hey hugh.

arky has a concensus NC just like y'all. if they were bama no one would challenge it. 1964? somewhere around there.

but overall, y'all have a better program long term and it's likely to stay that way.

LSU is 2-2 over the same period against the same teams. The only difference being the one LSU A&M game during that time. Taken away, they both have 1-2 records.

Taking away quarterback rushing stats, Mett is a much better QB than JFF. More yards per attempt, more touchdowns, less interceptions, higher QBR and higher passer rating.

I know Aggy doesn't like to eliminate part of the picture that they need, but I guess it's cool the other way.

Howd Mettsiah do against the first real defense he played? 5 TDs and 550+ all purpose yards for sure right?

Point is you are 2-2 over the same period. We are 1-3. If you are going to try to point out a stat at least be better than .500 before talking shite.

Would have made more sense for Bama to post this.

You know Mettenburg has played in an additional game right? What are the per game stats?

I didn't start the thread. My point is you can't cry when someone removes something from an argument to strengthen their side and then blatantly do it in a different argument. That's called hypocrisy.

And yes, I agree this would be a better argument after the season when LSU is 4-2 and Aggy is 1-4.

Mett is better per attempt. That's where rating and YPA come into play. And his touchdown total is higher after zero in one of those games. And more games increases the chance of more interceptions, which he doesn't have.

And you are still whiffing on the point I was trying to make to the poster I quoted originally.

If we ignore a part of what a quarterback does, sometimes a large part of he does, it can change the picture.

No shite?

You're trying far, far too hard.

Manziel's thrown for 1000 more yards (and 13 more TDs) than Mettsiah over the last two seasons. So "taking away" those pesky rushing stats (SEC rushing title, 1800+ yards, 26 rushing TDs) Mett still isn't even close.

We'll have our first common opponent this week (Auburn for us, OM for you). So Manziel has to best:

14-22 (63.6%), 229 yds, 1 TD, 1 int, 2 sacks, -7 yards rushing

And Mett needs to beat:

31-36 (79.5%), 336 yds, 0 TD, 1 int, 1 sack, 113 yards rushing, 2 TD

Should give us a better idea who has the "better" QB, right?

What is LSU's record in the past two years against quality opponents?

Oh, really? The career stat lines beg to differ.

Manziel career YPA -- 9.0
Mett career YPA -- 8.5

Think you need to go argue Mett vs. Murray vs. AJ for second place. You've lost this argument.

Moving the goal posts again. You guys are so fricking worried about proving the merits of JFF. Yes, the Heisman winner was better than Mett last year. Thanks for the straw man. Yes, he's a more complete player and probably more valuable to his team than any other player is to their team.

I'm looking forward to more Aggy fans coming out of the woodwork to completely miss the point of my statement and throw it way out of proportion because of the heightened sensitivity around JFF and how he's perceived in the minds of strangers.

Playing UF in a freshman's first game is pretty rough. LSU was just better at that time last year. Bama is Bama.

Sumlin is the difference for A&M... we will be just fine when JFF leaves if we retain Sumlin.

You want to go on record that playing a big 12 schedule and northwestern in our bowl game prepared us for SEC play? Hahaha

We had to get up to speed as quickly as possible. We're doing pretty well so far IMO.
