But, damnit Auburn, if you lose to Tennessee Auburn will deserve whatever dissention that comes their way.
Tennessee is awful.

I can't imagine Tennessee winning against Auburn. Auburn will bounce back and win big.

Things that are true...

If you watched Stidham last year he was awful under pressure and radely steps up in the pocket. He is a pussy, Now that the O line struggles he is really a pussy, This should not be news. Also suprise but Gus basically still calling plays. Chip makes suggestions but Gus has the final say. We all already knew this, which is why the offense cant sustain momentum. No consisntency with two play callers. To no suprise the D is fed up with the Offense sticking them in bad situations with 3 and outs and TOs so offcourse they are pissed. At the end of the day Gus’ stuborness and not being able to give up play calling will get his arse fired in about 2 years,

I think pretty much everyone has already figured out that Gus is one of the most detached HCs in the conference. I'm not sure he thinks of coaching in terms of working with the players so much as coming up with the diagrams and sticking the players in their slots. He's an IKEA coach and the instructions are a mess.

Sounds like Auburn hired Mike DuBose.

A few cool wins here and there, even a trophy... but holy god did he leave the program in a heap.

Sometimes I wonder if Saban lost to Auburn last year on purpose just so he can have an extra week of rest to get his team healthy and trick the Auburn BoT to give Gus a crazy contract. In the end it all worked out for Saban. He won another National Championship Title and screwed Auburn for years to come. That’s some 4d chess for your arse right there.

This is why it’s so dumb to commit so much money to one coach. Who would ever be okay with that?

At least Auburn has the worst team in the SEC coming to town this week. Everything should get back on track.

It's not a wonder. It's obvious.

How can he be unaware? He lost a few players to the red-shirt rule, one was a starter and another (TE) that got a lot of PT. He had a couple of other players that were rumored they were considering leaving and he had to "talk" into staying.

Now he's watching film everyday and he sees his team digressing each week. He stood there are saw his stellar defense basically fold on Saturday night to the point where that D hasn't played that bad since Ellis Johnson was there.

There's no way Malzahn doesn't have a pulse on this alleged locker room trouble.

What is your username on the Auburn site ?

Oh man. I don't even remember all my usernames on Auburn sites. I used to post on the original BamaOnline, back when it was Alliance Sports, which was one of the first if not the very first college football forum groups. The Auburn board was just a drop down menu away, and we had some epic battles.

It was during this time that an older Auburn poster that went by JR invoked the name of The Bunker. Will Woods, the administrator of the Auburn board, had been trying to fight off some of us Bammers on the Auburn open board, and JR suggested he just "bunker down" on the closed board.

I can't remember my usernames on the Alliance Auburn board or other forums, Inside the Auburn Tigers being one of the others.

I finally quit doing all that when it occurred to me how silly it really was, but those were back in the early days of college football forums.

Actually, I do remember one of my nicknames. I went by High Plains Drifter for a while on ITAT. I never lasted long because I wasn't good at hiding my allegiance. Sumabitches would bust and ban me. Imagine that.

The dudes future FIL is the ceo of the rockets, I’m sure over half the locker room thinks of Stidham as being entitled.

At this point, I would not be shocked if we lost that game. That offense is soooo bad. I dont feel like it has any chance of getting better by the end of the year. You could see it early. I was praying we could get by LSU and State then go into our last 4 games undefeated to ease the pain.

Im going to say this again and at some point it will be believed. This is the absolutely wrong offense for us to be running. Stidham is the wrong QB with the wrong skill set. Gus can not coach a offense that leans on the pass so much. Even if that is short passes. He needs a QB that can bail out or run options plays with his legs. Whether that is a power running like Cam or a fast guy like Nick. If we dont have a rushing QB with Gus at the controls, it will never be dominate again

Plus our Tail back recruiting has been shite for a few years. We are not bringing in the right kind of backs and it is obvious. We need a bigger, more powerful back instead of so many scat backs and speed guys. Whitlow is the right size and is decent but he is not shifty at all and has zero break away speed. Good guy for 5 years and thats about it.

Its been a square peg in a round hole since Marshall left. Regardless if we lean on the read or the power, we need a different style of QB running a different style of offense

AU brings in top 10 classes every year, so Gus is getting plenty of talent. Why isn't he signing the right players to fit the system? If he needs big bruising backs to carry the load then why all these scat backs, if he needs a DT Qb then why sign pocket passers?

I mean why is he targeting the wrong personnel?

This is a reply to all who have been posting in this thread. I don't post often and I do lurk much, but I just wanna say that this discussion is the reason I like to read about SEC Football, different fans making good points to talk about a situation. No stupid insults, just good-natured discussion. Cool.

Totally agree. Talent in general, we are fine.

This is a question I cant answer. I have no idea why we left what he was doing well and changed to what we are doing now. Our fan base wanted a more pass heavy offense where it was more "balanced". I never did. I was fine with a 75% run offense. It was very effective

Once again, I have no idea. Seems like every SEC team has a QB with wheels except us.

He could be bipolar or something.... I have always been a big believer in him but ever since he became less of a on hands guy and more of a CEO guy, he has not done well.

Now with all that said, we still should have beaten MSU Saturday night. He is not doing the job that he is being paid to do but the players lost that game plain and simple.

Two wide open TD passes over thrown that even someone from this board could have made

Starting RB fumbles the ball going across the goal line

Senior WR drops TD pass in the corner of the end zone

Punt returner drops two punts, one a turnover that results in a TD for MSU

Just cant recover from 4 TDs off the board. Not taking anything away from State, they took advantage of our bad play. Plain and simple. Congrats to them

That plus the bad coaching and bad blocking, we lose
