LSU is a better team now, but not a completely different team. The Auburn game was a great win, but you were at home. Florida isn't any good and OM has the 126th best rushing defense. If we played again it would be closer, but that's it.

The MSU game was the result of missing a lot of starters and Orgeron meddling with the offense.

It is what it is...polls have rarely been based on solid football information. The "eye" test has always been more important. Let's be real those tied to the money side of CFB often will try and rank teams higher who are in line to play someone in an important TV slot on down the road.
It boost Ad money.
It boost website clicks.
In the old days it boost newspaper sales.
Auburn historically has benefitted from this IMO. We often will hang around the bottom of the top 25 because we have games against uga and bama on the back end that can be cash cows to the profiteers of CFB if they can find a decent way to hype them.

LSU is known to pump themselves up. Everybody knows that but LSU fans. There are only 3 bowls games that matter. Those are 3 cfp bowls. The NY6 bowls are right under that . The only way any team in the conference outside of Alabama and Georgia, makes a NY6 bowl is that both Alabama and Georgia going undefeated the rest of the regular season. The conference championship game won by a small margin. Both schools get in the CFP. Other than that, there is no way that LSU, State, or Auburn make a NY6.

It will work itself out this weekend. The real question is will LSU find away to work its way back into the top 25 by years end.

Pedo St. evidently is out ... and tOSU back in the mix.
Hell ... Clemson lost to Syracuse ... a team that lost to LSU ... a team that lost to Troy .. and Clemson is still in the mix.
Besides ... it's Moo St ... no one cares. Does it really matter where MSU is ranked?
