Listening to a couple local sportcasters break down MU's new "permanent" opponents. One pointed out the new arrangement will allow Arkansas to renew its "Golden Boot" rivalry with LSU and suggested the SEC and the schools involved really go for rivalries that week.

Imagine the fun of
SC vs. Clemson
AR vs. LSU
Georgia vs. G. Tech
OU vs. OK. St.
MU vs. KU
Fla vs. FL St.

I say throw in A&M vs Texas.

Bedlam and the Border War would be new to a lot of SEC fans, but it would be awesome to bring them back.

This suggestion has potential.

thoase are all schddule except OU vs. OK. St.
MU vs. KU

OSU openly refuses to play OU, and the chance is probably gone with the 9 game schddule and OU already has plenty of maquee non-conf games scheduled

Not sure the stauts of potnetial MU KU

There are entirely too many microphones on this planet.

Bedlam, OU v. Ok State, doesn't qualify as a rivalry.
Oklahoma leads the series 91–20–7.

Some surveys indicate only 15% of the state of Oklahoma are Cowboy fans.
The only ones wishing to restore the game are sports bloggers looking for clicks and cowboy fans wishing for yesteryear. Most in the state of Oklahoma couldn't care less.

If the SEC can’t make some of these conference rivalry games work out every year then it’s an easy fix. Just let those teams schedule each other OOC. It wouldn’t be the first time. It just wouldn’t be counted as a conference game. Bama and Vandy did this several years ago. I think they both had opponents to drop out on them or something like that so they ended up playing each other. It just didn’t count as an SEC game.

Odd way to say a little piece of him rarely dies.

This is first-degree murder of grammar and syntax. You are under arrest, sir.

Tennessee and Kentucky fans would like the Beer Barrel returned

We both make some fine whiskey

Probably can’t be done because the Big Ten refuses to allow nonconference games after conference play starts, but I would like to see OU and Nebraska play that weekend.

In today’s climate of college football there are no sacred cows anymore. All this stuff that both individual teams and conferences do not want to change will have to change at some point. A good example will be ND. At some point in the very near future they will have to join a conference. They are pretty much one more loss away from being out of the playoff picture unless major chaos happens. If they played in a conference they could do what Clemson did last year and win the conference to get an automatic bid with 4 losses. Why would they want to continue hamstringing themselves every year by remaining independent. Once they lose 2 or 3 games every season they are out of it most years.

Imagine the fun of going back to the real SEC.

------

I know that OKST would jump at an SEC invite, and OKST would "fit", but even as an OKST alum, I don't want to see more expansion.

This suggestion? Have you been living under a rock?

UK-UofL, UGA-GT, UF-FSU, and SC-CU already do this every year. Get on board. This isn't an original idea.

Sec should have kept as many rivalry week games internal as possible.

OU vs LSU
Arkansas vs Mizz

Devils Advocate

Notre Dame probably makes the playoffs any year they have two or fewer losses. This sense of being special and getting into the playoffs might be damaged by joining a conference

What would really be funny would be for ND to join a G5 conference like the AAC and get in the playoffs every year by being the highest ranked G5 school every year.
