Also, if LSU is in that bad of trouble, why did the NIL pot go up after Lane was hired (due to donations)

Emotional decision making. Not thinking things through and instead acting on emotion. LSU wasn’t going to turn down that NIL money.

Possibly, but that isn't really logical. If your stance is just that dumb people run LSU then that's fine, I kind of expect you to believe that. But I have to assume they're at least somewhat competent.

I don't know, you've made a lot of posts. Which one are you referencing specifically?

So why do you just jump to the most illogical conclusions when it comes to LSU?

PE likes to gut expenses to squeeze profit. If they give PE any say in decisions this will be a bad deal. PE always wants their money, thats all they live for. And you better read the fine print

No deflection, link the post or repost whatever you said. I genuinely don't know what you're talking about.

Regardless, I think there is an avenue to doing the dreaded private equity and making out well on it.

Too much risk is involved when it comes to hiring coaches though- and Kiffin not being able to be a grown up can cause your plan to backfire. But really, I dont even think I could sleep well if I did that to hire Saban.

Now if you wanted to build like an entertainment multiplex and expect to tap into other revenue streams- I could see how you could justify the risk.

You replied to me saying you could disagree with things I’ve said, but still hold an objective opinion of this deal.

I asked you which things I’ve said that you disagree with.

Then you said “I don’t know”.

frick off

What part of that is confusing you? I disagree with a lot of people and agree with others. I don't know specifically what you're referring to though.

You seem to hold a very binary point of view in that if someone downvotes or disagrees with your statements, they think this is a good deal when either of those things aren't necessarily exclusive, especially with so much about this specific deal being unknown and based on speculation.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and suggest that 98% of the people who post here have no idea if it’s a good thing or not.

First, until we hear directly from LSU, regardless of “sources”, it’s all just speculation.

And you have to admit that key parts of this deal have changed since it first leaked. I have a feeling that will continue to be the norm until LSU holds a press conference.

I cannot believe I’m giving you another crack at this.

Ok, so IN YOUR CASE, just prove me wrong: what statements did I make that you disagree with?

You’ve now stated twice I’ve said things you disagree with. I know you’re playing stupid; just nut up and be forthright, like you know, Gov. Landry is incapable of doing.

Since you can't provide the specific quote you're referring to, I'll use the quote that you're "taking a victory lap" over.

quote:

I’m mad that people in charge are deceptive, liars, and through whatever term they want to call it, financially monetizing the great past time we call college football, while lazily pointing to a scape goat like “private equity” to somehow obfuscate what they’re actually doing. That frustration extends to the latest permutation: mortgaging the long-term promise of an athletics program (LSU in this case) to simply pay off the short-sighted irresponsible decisions of the present. Which is something you’d think all CFB fans would get behind. And why it’s so idiotic LSU people would be supporting it. But ride or die with your team colors, I guess.

I disagree with this whole post because not only do you make dumb generalizations, you jump to some pretty outrageous conclusions with no facts to back it up.

But I can also state that PE getting involved in college football is not good.

Comprende?

Go back and go through each of his posts, one by one, you literally consolidate posts all the time. Should take you 20 seconds.

Once you answer a question with a question, you don’t know what you’re talking about and deflecting.

Your theory was that someone was going to invest $100 million in return for around $350k per year.

Nothing I ever post regarding LSU will ever be that illogical. It isn’t possible.

No one is trying to make fun of LSU and say that the deal is bad to troll LSU. It just all sounds like you need money from overspending and are accepting a bad deal to fix a short term problem.

If it is a good deal, more schools will follow and you guys were first to capitalize. But you need to explain why it’s a win and not a short term solution to overspending with bad long term effects. Most of our schools have not overspent so we need to understand how to benefit from such deals if it’s just free money for the changes in college football.
