Hey, make light of it all you want.
I'd likely be doing the same.
But illegal is illegal--whether or not you and I agree with said law.
Those boys gotta be smarter than that.

This is fun. It's usually us getting blasted for something that shouldn't even been enforced by an arrest to begin with like a suspended license arrest, underage drinking, or weed.

Exactly

If this was UGA we would be on blast from everyone. . ANd our coach would also suspend them at a minimum for the Clemson game. We all know it's true.

Yea, but since they're all arrestable offences in Athens but they are "citations" or "tickets" elsewhere UGA is ThUGA... & UT fans will always throw the 1st stone...

WTF is KPD doing? No strong armed robbery or assault and battery of a police officer? Since when does this happen in hillbillyville?

Everyone knows UGA punishes their players more strictly (usually) than most other SEC schools for stuff like this.

BUT, the fact is, these players probably won't see more than a one game suspension or a ton of in-house stuff (running, cleaning, etc.) as a result of this incident. Personally, I see it as an advantage we have over UGA that ya'll punish harshly and we don't. So flame away, but I know you're jealous.

On an interesting note, there was a robbery/shooting in the fort (where all the UT students live) last weekend with 3 victims (none killed i believe). I'm glad KPD has more important stuff to focus on now, instead of stupid stuff like personal safety and upholding of the peace.

It's just college kids drinking. Move along UGA (Fulmer Cup dynasty) fans, nothing to see here.

Sounds like the police who hang around UGA arresting players for silly crap have moved on to Knoxville.

Your admin though had to react to some student deaths and the campus wide alcohol and drug problems you were experiencing. That's where those harsh policies come from - the team got hit because the entire school was having problems. It's not really fair to punish everyone because a few students partied to hard and died -- educational programs should've been instituted instead but UGA didn't want parents to think they were looking the other way while a dangerous party school environment was going on.

You are right. If that were the case, they might actually sit a game. Our guy (SEC freshman of the year, mind you) was only dismissed from the program.

Pretty sure this just isn't true. Yeah, a kid died in his dorm in 2005 while overdosing on a variety of drugs, but Richt has been doling out consistent punishment for these type offenses since before 2005. I came here as an undergrad in 2006 and things started getting slightly stricter in the dorms, but to suggest there was a campus wide alcohol/drug problem that led to the athletic department taking action by creating a draconian punishment system...well that's just untrue as far as I know.

For instance, UK has the same policy. Did they have the same drug/alcohol problems on campus?

Was in response to the guy who referenced Crowell having a gun with a scratched off serial #.
