Apparently only Florida and LSU want to win titles. They just haven’t figured out how on NIL.

Oh no, we know Ole Miss wants to win.

They just don’t.

Again, NIL helps no doubt. But the reality is Miss is much harder to recruit than LSU or UF. NIL can help but it’s not a complete 180 and furthermore Ole Miss doesn’t have gamechanging NIL over LSU or UF anyway.

I think lane probably stays for family, and that’s the only reason. You guys are lucky his kids are the ages they are.

We have just as many NCs as you under the NIL

So are you saying that it isn't possible for UF to make the playoffs since they haven't done it yet?

Because he believes he can be the next Spurrier or Meyer.

Does Lane seem like the kind of guy who aspires to just be the next guy somewhere?

LSU and UF do not want coaches happy with 10 wins and no titles for years

Yet, in the era of NIL, teams that were perennial powerhouses no longer have the advantage of legacy.

Now any team can make a run 10 wins and a National Championship especially with the playoffs. Look at some of last year's playoff teams: Boise State, Arizona State, SMU?

The problem is that the fanbases of these legacy teams still expect their teams to be undefeated and in contention for a natty year after year like the olden days... and if a HC cannot deliver those impossible results and have 1-2 year of mediocre results... his job is a risk. Look what Bama people were saying after just one game this season.

Ole Miss fans are downvoting you but you are correct. Lane will never win a natty at Ole Miss and he knows this.

Bold call. Babe Ruth home run bold.

We are in a new climate. Them's the facts.

Coaches want to win titles. LSU and UF do not want coaches happy with 10 wins and no titles for years..both schools want coaches with higher goals.

Florida has gone through four coaches now without an SEC or much less a natty.

Yes as he wanted the UA job when Saban retired. But it is not about being the next guy as much as proven he is as good as any and I think UF based on history can be that. Lane has a big ego

Has always been possible, why do people think this is something new?

Teams like Ole Miss still aren't winning natties.

OM fans claim UF is a dumpster fire who’s time is over and they’re close to winning a NC under Kiffin.
I’m just pushing my chips in that they’re wrong.

If Ole Miss is actually on equal footing with Florida and LSU, like many here claim, I don't want Lane.

He's in his 6th year and has never even made the SECCG.

Florida isn't a "total rebuild"

It's a pretty talented rosters plus with the portal and NIL the right coach build a contender pretty quick at UF.

Our practice facilities are superior to UF.

It is what it is.
