Glad that he’s still getting recognized. He was absolutely dominate in 2000. Had a terrific 2001 season despite playing on a bad ankle for most of the year.

At first glance, I wanted to argue this. But I don't think you could say there has been one player that had that big of an impact on any team. They won a national championship with him, without him, they would've taken another trip to Tampa to play Wisconsin in the Outback bowl.

You could also argue that there may not have been another player that has cost a University as much.

Dak #4 in college this century??? ..... Please tell me you are joking, right. I've seen some crack head homers in my day, but you are on a different level

If we go just by you know its coming but can't stop them, Deuce Mc and Anthony Dixon should be top 20.

Hell Anthony Dixon never had a QB that could do more than take a snap.

Going from a recruited DT to a TE is what screwed him over in the draft. Anyone with a brain wouldn't put a 330 pounder at TE. That makes as much sense as putting Ryan Mallett at TE.

He would have been a monster at WR but issues at QB kept that from happening.

We didn’t have issues at QB. We had issues with the HC.

Tarvaris Jackson was on the team but never got to play because Nutt is awful with QBs. D Howard used to tell me how great he was in practice.

He then went on to have a great college career, drafted in the 2nd round of the NFL and had a 10 year NFL career.

We haven’t had a QB in the NFL for 10 years or drafted that high since I’ve been alive. QB killer hurt us with that one

[quote]Darren McFadden over Burrow? Wtf[/quo

It’s not that far fetched, Darren carried his team to wins for years. Burrow had two years but I think people underrate his 2018 season.
The numbers were just ok, but he showed some flashes in an offense that didn’t fit him at all.

And you want to talk about clutch? Ask Georgia what he was like in 2018 as far as clutch goes. I think uga fans saw 2019 coming more than any other school.

That being said, Darren was the whole team and even played qb in wildcat as an actual passing threat.

If they go by one season then it’s got to be burrow and cam , one or the other. Career is Tebow and McFadden.

Moving Matt Jones from qb would have been a fireable offense. That dude won games and sold tickets plus brought our program publicity.

Jackson had a heck of an arm but accuracy was an issue. Jones was our best chance to win.

Yea but he wasn’t the best QB. Jones should have never been the QB to start so he wouldn’t have had to move him if he could half way coach a QB

If Petrino was the coach at the time Jackson is the QB and Jones is WR and we would have been a much better team.

Again we had a HC issue. I’ve said Matt was great but Jackson was a 2nd round pick and QB and in the NFL for 10 years for a reason.

Again we had a HC issue. Accuracy was an issue cause he played for the QB killer. It didn’t seem to be an issue at his next stop or hurt him to get drafted 2nd round and in the NFL for 10 years.

It was so bad that Jones call his own plays 25-30% of the time in the huddle cause the calls sent in were garbage

Have we ever had a QB drafted as high as the 2nd round?

Ferguson is the only one I can think of to last longer than Jackson in the NFL and that was close to 50 years ago

Did you see that team before Jones took over at qb? No one, but you I guess, wanted him out of that position.

Your hatred for Nutt is noted though.

I dont agree here.
Burrow was a bulldozer in the run game in 2108. 4 for 4 on 4th down qb sneaks. If i recall, 2 rushing TDs?

Having a qb who can get you 2 yards in short yardage situations (when the defense is expecting it) is huge. I cant understate that. Burrow was a big reason for the 2018 win.

But dont pretend that 2018 burrow was the same as what we saw in 2019. That is a level of QB rivaling all time seasons for 2019. The legs were creating opportunities downfield on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down. It was not really comparable.

Yea I watched all his games and saw the team before him. Was at the 7 OT game in Oxford.

Just saying Jackson was drafted in the 2nd round for a reason and had a 10 year NFL career. He was a better QB.

We just had an awful coach that made every QB he coached worse.

I did say Jones should be on the top 50 list as well but if Petrino was the coach or anyone that knows how to coach a QB Jones would have never been the QB and we would have had a QB that spent more time in the NFL than any QB we’ve had since Joe Ferguson 50 years ago.
