A preview of the new era of college football. I lost interest in college basketball when there was less continuity for my team from year to year with one and done, transfers, etc. Football is going the same direction.

That's a great way to frame it, that's exactly what it is. The players have no connection to the school, the state, etc. It's just a bunch of guys wearing the same clothes.

Fine with players getting paid, but free transfers every year is an absolute joke.

Hell Ole Miss had a player this year on his 4th school in 4 seasons.

We are all just rooting for the laundry nowadays

Yeah, the level of transfers on Michigan's basketball and Indiana football teams are probably more the future until the transfer rules change.

Real professional leagues have so many rules to limit them because they begin to erode fan interest.

Next, I expect to see agents putting together groups of 3 or 4 upperclass starters that will almost guarantee a billionaire booster a Final Four.

So LSU should not celebrate by this standard.

Do you feel as if it was college sports when only certain schools were allowed to pay for players and not get penalized for it? This is the fallout from the bullshite that happened for years

Big 10 teams were often punished significantly less than others. Is it honestly your feeling that the OSU's and Michigan's of the world weren't paying players?

Would you complain if it was your team?

Honestly yes. I know this is Bball but the football offseason is basically nonexistent now thanks to the portal. Nothing sticks so nobody ever has time to develop feelings or get invested in players.

The main reason I'm still watching football is because none of the teams I root for will probably ever have a coach as good as Kirby again in my lifetime

Yeah they have, and yet certain teams were willing to risk it all and got away with it, while others were completely shut down for it.

Who got away with it and who didn't?

The tagalong Oklahoma is why Texas is not part of the B1G already. They don't have an invite

Michigan Basketball knows how to play the transfer/portal game.
If this is the system we find ourselves in we better learn to thrive in it.

Why should they? You don’t care about them.
