You guys would be downright frightening with Wisconsin's coaching staff.
It goes beyond the coaching staff. Wisconsin has the right infrastructure and leadership at the top, which is why they've won pretty consistently regardless of the HC.
Had Tennessee just let Fulmer stick it out for a couple more years before stepping down and taking over as AD (like Alvarez at Wisconsin), they might be in better shape right now.

I'm not so sure. Fulmer is cancerous and would be more likely to try and micromanage any coach that came in.

I mean the bottom half of the SEC is pretty garbage right now, the gap isn't as much as people make it to be
Talent wise? No. Everyone in the SEC besides Kentucky, Vandy, & Mizzou recruits better than Wisconsin. They do not face the same kind of talent level on a yearly basis. On field results?
Yeah I'd have to agree with you. I'm not confident the SEC would come out on top in a 14 team head to head matchup. The SEC on paper should win the bottom half of that matchup easily but they likely wouldn't.

Ohio state, Michigan state and Michigan this year from the other side of the Big Ten,
True Wisconsin's side of the Big 10 is much weaker. Northwestern, Purdue, Illinois & Minnesota are vastly inferior. Nebraska & Iowa are the only two teams that can legitamitely challenge them year in and year out.

Even if he was still involved in the program after stepping down, I highly doubt they would be in worse shape than they've been over the last decade.
At the very least, they would've had some continuity with the program's direction instead of changing the culture every 3-4 years with the next head coach.

So, what's that say about Arkansas?
We're dog shite. Doesn't change the fact that the Northwestern, Purdue, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, & Rutgers programs all suck so much fricking arse the last 30 years it's hard to even comprehend. Half your league has been worse than Vandy the past 3 decades.

coming from a Arkansas fan. man you really taking this conference pride thing to another level. Yeah my team may be worse than most G5 teams but at least Bama, Auburn, LSU and Florida win championships!!
In the past 10 years Wisconsin has beaten USC, Auburn, Miami(x3) and hung with a top ranked Oregon 45-38. shouldn't these teams just be outrunning them? I'm confused. Also beat bum arse arkansas in 2007

quote:The talent level is getting really thin down there. Plus most of them all have very bad coaches that have never proven themselves to be worthy of SEC head coaching jobs. Schools seem like they just draw names out of a hat now days instead of doing a lot of research on who they hire and making a true effort at someone proven.
The bottom half of the SEC, folks
A few years ago, the bottom half was better than it is now.
