He is now also facing more talent than he ever has before. SEC has much more talent than PAC 12 and BIG 12.

But if that was true then MSU should be losing badly. Every single game we have played this year except for Alabama, we have either won, or been in until the last minute.

So what you say does not add up. Furthermore, as explained by someone who actually understands the true Air Raid, it is more complex than people think because it takes time for the QB AND receivers to understand what to do according the how the defense lines up.

We did not have spring ball last year and also, Will Rogers was not our starting QB. He took over the job later in the season which played less games because of covid. This team is getting better and better with experience. I know you Ole Miss fans hate it but it's a fact.

Here's another Will Rogers stat.

This season Will Rogers is completing 40.7 passes per game. If he kept that exact pace and played out the rest of his career, Rogers would finish with 2,355 career completions.

The NCAA career completions record is 1,546.

The NCAA career ATTEMPTS record is 2,436. So he could conceivable have more pass COMPLETIONS than anyone else had pass ATTEMPTS in NCAA history

That is the rap on him. But he has more talent at State than he ever had at TT or Wazzou. Obviously that is countered by the SEC being loaded every where. His coaching ability is really good and ability to recruit at State could make State a very consistently good team with some drop offs here and there.

I think you will see less La. Tech/Memphis type games going forward as the team matures.
Though generally every team outside Bama has an occasional scare from a G5 team so that is not unusual either.

I like what I see in the direction of the program and that bodes well for recruiting and the future of State football.

We will see how it plays out in the coming years.

Mike leach is 2 x national coach of the year and got Texas Tech AND Washington State to 11 wins. i wouldnt say always. when the stars align, he wins bigly.

I'd be very happy with the program and it's direction under Leach if I was a State fan. He has an excellent DC who has a scheme that works hand in hand with his offense and he's recruiting well enough to have players that can compete in the league if coached well.

I don't see any reason State can't fluctuate between 6-6 and 9-3 the next 5-6 years with Leach.

Did Leach find a new kicker? I didn't have a problem with him calling those kickers out.

This is one of those things that keep us from getting the big head, Hopefully, we won't get screwed over in future games like we did this season Like Memphis. shite like the late pass interference all we had to get you guys happens all the time every week in the SEC. When it came down to it all we had to do was stuff you guys Down the stretch to win. It would have helped if we had stopped to befiore we got to that play

We have a lot of work and it's still just getting started Leach got a lot of work to do to be able to play consistently with LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas A&M, and whatever we have to face in the East.

Or WR recruiting. Who wouldn't want to touch the ball as many times as those guys do in that offense

Dan Merlins did that and a good many of their fans were ready to run him off.

Next years team should be really good, but the schedule doesn't set up for the big year.

at Alabama and draw Georgia at home from the East.

State was the last team to score 20+ on Georgia.

He might go 8-4 every year for 20 years. He might make some real national noise, a #1 ranking or trips to Atlanta like Sherrill and Mullen did. He might retire next year to the Dominican Republic and study pirates just cause he feels like it. Who knows with that dude

Rogers is a freshman eligibility wise so we can have him 3 more years.

We return pretty much the entire team next season. I expect many of our close losses to be wins next year. 9+ wins

Even if we drop a couple wtf games but have some big upsets I prefer that type of 8 win season instead of Mullens 8 win seasons where we beat everyone below us but had no exciting upsets. That gets boring.

This season has been exciting win or lose because we have had a shot to win every game except Bama. That keeps me watching on the edge of my seat. I fricking hate getting blown out or watching us give up after we fall behind a couple scores like we would under Mullen. With Leach, it has shown he can motivate a team to play 4 quarters no matter the odds. I enjoy that.
