Look at what he did for the Falcons. His 1st season as OC was a good offense with a terrible OL.

my best friend is a Longhorn and he tells me they they have all the skill players but just very unsure about the line

He DID act like a total d-bag on QB1

Caleb Williams sucked pretty bad down the stretch last year, completing 50%, 44.4% and 51.3% and going 1-2 during that stretch. Curiously, both Rattler & Williams regressed under the supposed QB whisperer.

I'm excited to see how Rattler performs after a year with Beamer in a pro-style offense. I think he's gonna surprise some of you

Neither Hooker nor Jefferson get the respect they deserve, I'm especially stoked to watch Jefferson.

KJ I agree, not sure on hooker. I think HH is only looked at as favorbaly as he is becuas they go super fast and a lot of teams dont' adjust well. When it comes to who I'd want quarterbacking my team I'd tkae Levis all day over hooker. I think Levis is massively underrated.

As a freshman who was coached by a staff who clearly gave up. And yes, he was probably going up against the most talented defense in CFB since 2011 Bama and LSU. Richardson is going to be good. Florida doesn't have the pieces around him to compete for a title this year though.

This. UGA fans love to simultaneously shite on Richardson while also talking about how they had the best defense ever. Perhaps the kid is good and was just not elite enough to tear it up against the best defense is college football in his first ever start ? Lol

I’m actually excited to see Ewers play. I think he’s going to be really good.

The hype train is so staggering for this kid that he is bound to be a letdown at least for the first few games.

I think the biggest issue for him is that he is not really mobile and the Longhorn offensive line had severe issues and it is not clear how much better than unit will be this year.

Ewers is supposed to be dual threat maybe not Lamar back there but enough to escape and make playground plays

Who Ewers?

Well from the spring game, their other QB appeared a lot more mobile. Ewers could throw a nice deep ball. When he got pressure his mechanics broke down and would sling it with just his arm and the accuracy of course was not there. I don’t remember him running the ball. Seemed like a pocket passer.

Lots of good QBs on the field this season. The portal does help, 3 ex Oklahoma QBs will be playing elsewhere plus our starter is rated #4.

Some of those names I don’t recognize , most are well known ....

Caleb looked bad in his two losses and against ISU. But playing against the pac he may look great we will see.....a #3 rating is too high given the uncertainty

He may be. Just think it's ridiculous to put him on a top 25 best at this point. Some people have him drafted in the first round next year, which is even crazier. Let these kids prove it first.

The rattler, dude is leaving an offense way more talented than what he will be inheriting and will be going up against far superior defenses than the ones he struggled against in the 12, this smells like the qb version of muschamp

Ewers has had zero meaningful snaps and is on this list

Take a look @ the 2nd seasons (or first seasons they saw meaningful action) of the top 10 rated QB's coming out of high school since 2000.

You'd be going against the grain historically to think he wouldn't be a top 20 QB.

8. Spencer Rattler - South Carolina What has he done other than be the only QB to suck under Lincoln Riley?

You might be “surprised” to look at stats. Keep in mind teams had plenty of film on SR and zero on CW.

SR last year: 361/515/4,595/70.1%
CW last year: 136/211/1,912/64.5%

Bigger picture is CW regressed end of season. Anyone praising LR has to downgrade him for both qbs equally.

Maybe he isn’t a QB whisperer. Prior to last 2 years he had 3 walk ons who did outstanding - maybe they did it prior to OU? Then he had 2 of his actual recruits and he failed with both of them.

And a coach who stopped investing in players as he was busy negotiating his leaving starting in Sep. Fans all wondered why with so much talent every game was practically a stuggle. Now we know, LR let his players down all season as he was plotting his leaving and taking CW with him.

Now we know why SR never got to play after TX game even though he had better completion and CW was struggling. LR called plays to make SR fail. Long taking plays with no short outlet. Us fans took pictures last year of his plays and were amazed at how awful they were with SR. After the fact its easier to see. And he used bad playcalling to get fans to call for CW by his awful calling.

LR is a snake and did SR dirty. SR will have a good year but agree it will be against tough opponents. I feel bad what Riley did to him, and wish Spencer great luck. He’s much better than what posters here think.

Riley didn't have "three walk ons". Im going to assume you meant three transfers. Only Mayfield was a walk on.

As far as Rattler goes, he will be good if South Carolina's line can keep him protected in the pocket. Any pressure and he scampers to the right...every time.

Yes transfers/walkons same to me. All had prior qb experience vs SR/CW did not. And SR isn’t a scrambler type qb so protection and play calling will be key. He has history with head coach qmd TE so that helps as they can actually call plays to his skillset.
