Mac Jones first pick six was probably the worst of the two. On the first int. he had Jeudy open towards the sideline and overthrew it right into the AU defender. At least on the second int. he was being tackled while throwing.

Yeah sailed that first one badly, and the second happened because Big Kat was in his face right off the snap, forcing him to throw before he wanted to.

Probably should have just eaten the sack, but you won't catch me complaining about how things went down lol.

Auburn never should have been given time back on the clock and allowed to kick a FG before half. You have to allow time for a human ref to signal a runner down, then wave his arms to stop the clock to move the chains, then the official in the booth can react to that and stop the clock.

The intent of the rule was not to stop the clock the nanosecond a runner is down and then allow the offense to bring out the fg unit.

Yeah let’s solely rely on a bunch of geriatric retards who screw up constantly. There was time left when his knee was down. Plain and simple. Gus just took advantage of the fact that it took them a while to watch a very clear replay.

Once again, the clock is not intended to stop for a first down the very instant a ball carrier’s knee touches the ground. I agree that 5 seconds shouldn’t roll off the clock, but if the runner goes down with less than a second left in a half, then there should be no time put back on the clock of the clock hits 0:00 before it is stopped.

You know what smart teams in that position? They run a play that will get out of bounds before the clock runs out.

I’m with you on most of it and am just giving you a hard time, but I disagree here. The play is supposed to end when the runner is down. If you make the official the standard, then what about in a play where the runner’s knee was down but it was close and they continue play?

I think the rule change to fix what happened in the IB is a smart rule (it is funny how seemingly every time Saban loses an IB some rule changes). Kudos to Gus for getting his team an extra play within the rules at the time.

I don’t like the idea of a runner going down and the play isn’t dead until the ref signals it. Hypothetically, if that were the case and Auburn still had a timeout left before the half they would have been screwed out of an extra play.

2019 Iron Bowl starting now on SEC Network

LSU fans rewatch this game as much or more than Auburn fans do.

They wanted no part of a rematch.

Wish we wouldve gotten it.

Although it wouldve got old hearing the Gumps cry about injuries the whole time.

LSU wasn’t losing to a Mack Jones led Bama team in the playoff. It would have been a better game than LSU Oklahoma. LSU wasn’t losing in 2019

I didn’t like that the only way Auburn could get points out of that situation was to have a replay situation where they could have the fg team on the field during the delay and ready to snap on the ref’s whistle. Let’s say the refs were super efficient and the clock was stopped the exact moment the AU player went down, I don’t even think Auburn could have got a snap off with their offensive unit because in 2019-20, the refs hardly stop the clock long for first downs anyway. You can thank coaches like Gus who want to run fast tempo for that change. What used to be about a 10-12 second delay to move the chains is now about 3-4 seconds long.

They wouldn’t have. The refs messed up though and replay got it correct. Further goes to my point that I don’t want the game in their hands in those situations. Gumps should be upset that they didn’t get the time right on the field, otherwise the half is over. Bama would have probably lost anyway even if we don’t get that last second field goal. Saban seems to bring out the best in Gus and that Waffle House loving mofo mind fricks Saban any time Auburn has a decent team.

Hate losing any game especially the Iron Bowl but long as Gus beats us every other year it guarantees AU losing 4-6 games a year with his job security of winning that 1 game.
