Some interesting quotes from Brigham Young:
"Suppose you found your brother in bed with your wife, and put a javelin through both of them. You would be justified, and they would atone for their sins, and be received into the Kingdom of God. I would at once do so, in such a case; and under the circumstances, I have no wife whom I love so well that I would not put a javelin through her heart, and I would do it with clean hands...There is not a man or woman, who violates the covenants made with their God, that will not be required to pay the debt. The blood of Christ will never wipe that out, your own blood must atone for it."
(Journal of Discourses, v.1, p.83)
"Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so."
(Journal of Discourses, v.10, p.110)

They stopped in Missouri for a while to take a little break and made a little camp. And the locals attacked them and killed a bunch of them. They killed some in return but where outnumbered. So they ran west. But they still remember that. All of them. Most people that live around Kansas City have no idea it ever happened. But the Mormon church does have plans to take that camp back when the time is right.

Mormons believe the "New Jerusalem" will be built in Missouri. They also believe the Garden of Eden was in Missouri. (All taught by Joseph Smith)

My great-grandfather was arrested in Missouri as a young man for smuggling books. He was later released because they couldn't prove they were books.

Ahh, ok. So it's that kind of thread.
So, Arkansas whipped Kansas' arse last. God knows Misery hasn't since Centralia.

So he ripped off the old testament. Stone adulterers. He said use a spear.

This was in the early 1800’s. Louisiana had laws to enforce this exact thing 100 years later, in the mid 1900’s. They were still prosecuting mixed race couples in the south until the 1960’s.
I don’t agree with everything they believe, but I do know that today mormons are good people towards me. They are much better than most people I run into.

Correct. Depending on who you talk to, they believe the Garden of Eden analogy is not literal. It refers to the fact that so many people in their caravan believed the world was kind and loving. Until they were massacred in Missouri. And that was their Garden of Eden, where innocence was lost. They don’t believe in that anymore. They tried to be left alone and do their own thing 200 years. They got slaughtered in western Missouri. I don’t blame them for hating us.

I would expect this from fans of certain other teams, but South Carolinians are generally good folks. Something is wrong with you though

I need to clarify that. They all know and believe they got massacred in Missouri. Most just think the whole Garden of Eden analogy refers to the introduction of sin to their world. Just like Baptists believe a snake tricked Eve into an apple and fricked up the whole world.

Missouri didn’t take no shite. Just ask the Jayhawkers. That’s why it’s one of the only states pro weed and anti abortion.

Do you keep the Book of Mormon in your house just in case this comes up? Weird.
