If winning games at the highest level that anyone has ever won them on doesnt get you a championship, it shows you how much a championship is worth. Alabama won more western division titles than tennessee won eastern in the late 90s. Who was the superior program?

I'm not really a Nascar fan. But yeah, pretty sweet to have a hometown kid win the biggest race there is.

Since you are only talking football I will let you slide, BUT keep in mind, should, and that is a big should, LSU win a MNC in the next 3 years, they will have 3 in 10 as would Fla. should they win one. just sayin... I take the MNC over SEC titles ANY DAY! So would you.
Other sports like UK basketball, Arky basketball, and T&F,
LSU T&F 11 straight NC (outdoors) for our women, etc. Trump all of those football stats.
Wooo piggies is even better than us. Go research the late 80's through 2000 and check out LSU adn Arky in T&F.

The thing is that we all know that Alabama is by far the greatest program in SEC history. But the gap between tennessee and GEORGIA(who is 3rd) is also large.

Winning the West wasn't hard to do in the 1990s. Alabama was really the only legitimate team in that division at the time. But Alabama was winning more conference titles in the 20s and 30s than Tennessee was during that same time period - which is what matters when calling yourself a dynasty.

During the period in question(25-34) Tennessee won 88 percent of its games while bama won 84. Tennessee was 4-3 vs Alabama during the time period. Your championships arent worth the paper they are written on.

MOST DAMNING EVIDENCE AGAINST THE BAMA CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Nobody is but me. What do the rest of you people watch between football seasons? MLB and NBA don't cut it for me. I can watch NCAA Men Bama, but other than that, there's a sports vacuum.

Chicken, let me run the new NASCAR board.

Such bullshite. The 1959 team went down as the greatest team of the 20th century, yet people arent recognizing them as NC.

yada yada,

see also State Penn, twice undefeated in the 60's and 70's and just the runner up in the pre-BCS era.
see also Aubie 13-0 and not invited to the big one.

it happens.

I liked seeing Tennessee on top of the list, but no way in hell I can put them over Alabama from 71-80. From 71-79 they had 11 total losses.

Hell, Bama has 4 claimed titles from 1925-1934, and we don't have any.

In what way could an all white team with a loss be the greatest team of the century?

Not even the dominant team in the conference over that time span.
