11 Aggies in the portal. No coach. This is like a mini death sentence.

Not a flame. But this is really really bad.

A new coach is going to have to scramble just to field a serviceable roster.

Easily sets Aggie back 2-3 yrs.

Latest is that many of the kids are in the portal until they see who we hire. Some will leave, and some will even follow the PoS to Austin.

Certainly appears they might have missed their window

Is it suprising that something like: losing a CWS when up 1-0, then head coach leaves 1 day after losing CWS to coach at your biggest in-state rival, in addition to your 11 best players now putting their name into the transfer portal happens to the Aggies?

I don't think that's surprising for Aggies. It's on par for the course for them.

They're going to enter the portal because there's a lot of uncertainty right now, I'm sure some will stay.

Honestly, the rest of them are dumb for not entering, unless they absolutely have no intention of leaving.

As a native Texan, it's kind of sad to see that Longhorns are at the point of needing to kill Aggie momentum in order to have something to celebrate.

It’s brutal and it sucks. Like a plane losing its wings and tumbling out of the sky.

Actually think you might be missing 1.

In the age of the portal this isn’t uncommon. When muss left our basketball team all the players left, we had no roster.

A good coach will be able to field a team.

Kind of the name of the game now.

At least three aTm starters next year are still on the team of their future coach.

It sucks for them, but they can rebuild quickly. Hell it only took Brian Kelly 6 months to rebuild a 85-man football roster that was down to 38 players when he took the job. Much easier to rebuild quickly much smaller rosters in basketball and baseball with the portal.

The only bad thing for A&M is it’s so late in the game now since they went all the way to the finals. They would have been better off losing in the regionals or super.

This. They have to be in the portal; doesn't mean they necessarily will leave.

But yes. We will lose some players. Why is anyone surprised by this?

A good coaching hire along with the portal and NIL can turn this situation around quick for Aggie.

A notable Texas recruit didn’t like the Schloss hire and has since withdrawn his NLI today.

This is just typical with coaching changes.

Was he even recruited by Schloss? If not, recruit may be bailing for good reason.

The days of easy transitions are over unless there’s a head coach in waiting.

The day Brian Kelly retires from LSU I fully expect over half the roster to transfer and have to start from scratch. It’s just the way it is now

Transfer portal nonsense is way more damaging than NIL and there's literally nothing stopping them from imposing the prior restrictions. I don't know why the NCAA is choosing to die on this hill of all things
