I would like everybody who believes that either Clemson or USC or LSU will leapfrog UT if they win their conference to publicly memorialize that opinion in this thread.

So that I may have one thread where I can easily and quickly remind morons that they are, in fact, morons.

A 1 loss P5 conference winner should be a playoff spot before a 1 loss non conference winner. If not then it’s not a playoff, it’s an invitational tournament.

If LSU wins SEC as a 2 loss team that means it throws a 1 loss UGA back in the mix....

ut doomed...

In this scenario , for any teams in the top 4 the ranking would be ( top to bottom ).

USC
Clemson
UGA
UT
LSU

1 loss USC or 1 loss Clemson will absolutely leapfrog UT.

I'll go on record saying that a 1-loss, PAC12 champ USC should leapfrog VOLS.

1-loss ACC champ Clemson seems more iffy, but I'd still say they get in over a 1-loss VOLS team.

2 loss LSU is the chaos scenario. I have no idea what they would do with that.

1 loss Power Five Champ will trump 1 loss non champ.

Always has.

Definitely LSU is in if Conference Champ. Georgia would possibly be in with one loss. Tennessee would watch playoffs on TV or from stadium seat.

Maximum chaos. Clemson and UNC both drop a game before their Championship. USC loses to UCLA. TCU drops 1 before the championship and then loses the title game.
