Imagine the recruiting energy that would have been created from making the playoffs? Sigh. Of course our staff would have also been torn between recruiting and playoff preparation more so than just Gator Bowl prep.

Playoff is causing havoc in a lot of ways with the way programs would normally operate. If you need a new coach, it’s really hard to hire one away from a playoff team, unless you’re willing to punt on early signing day and the portal

Kiffin is completely right when he talks about how bad it is that the portal opens before the bowl games at least.

Agreed, but academically it makes the most sense. The NCAA football championship game is after the spring start date of 95% percent of the colleges.
