You actually think that this team can get to 6 wins? I'm having trouble finding 3.

I actually see a chance at 7 if we are just decent. Memphis, Arkansas, SELA, Cal, Vandy, Missouri, New Mexico St. You'll have to pardon me for being optimistic. And of course there are upset chances and chances in the aforementioned 7 for us to be upset with the outcome.

We would have to win 8 regular season games and have a top 15 class for me to not want Luke fired

Good analysis insider. I would add Dent and Tisdale made me much more confident should Matt unexpectedly go down. Drummond looked good andbraylon is Braylon. We don't lose as much at receivers as the media and opposing teams thnk we are. Maybe not all early NFL picks but I do believe we have more talent there than expected.

Also the OLine is much better at achieving leverage. That unit won't come to full position status till incoming freshman arrive. I also observed sharp route running which allowed Matt to go through progressins. He also looked off the safeties nicely. We haven't done that since Chad.Tylin looked incredible. I thought the same thing about MCluster.

Defensively we played football like a team! Linebackers shot gaps etc. I love it and we will be much improved. DBs jumped routes and covered close which is a big Change for the last 3 years. Last year we had a hell of a lot more talent on defense than was displayed by a very below average DC. I think we will see that talent coached well this year. McIntyre said in press conference there were a lot of people playing last year that may not play much this year at all!

Luke made two great hires and time will tell but I fully expect us to be more competitive than people are expecting us to be. Last year Luke was saddled with 2 extremely underqualified Coordinators, Hired by Freeze, purely bad bad hires. The head coach is the CEO and CEOs pick their people to make the machine work. I am an Ole Miss fan, have been since 1955. I hope we are recruiting to win big and that's my test for Luke. Sell the kids the mountain top, not the valley of mediocrity! The CEO hiring the right people So that was Luke's argument to remain HC andi honestly couldn't argue with that. A CEO that doesn't have his people in place nor the control to do anything about it is toast, anywhere!

Before you go crazy I was against the Luke hiring, I was also hugely against the Nutt hiring. I was on the fence with Freeze but became a fan of htis results but his last two coordinator hires turned me off to him big time. I don't want him back if only for that. So to be honest this is Luke's first year with "his staff" and I will see the product. I think we can win more this year than I did last year with 2 comic book coordinators.

The OL will be a major liability. If you read Rich Rod's comments, it is obvious that he isn't a fan of Paul Jackson.
I seriously wonder how the guy still has a job. Our Ol look like they do not spend time in the weightroom at all.
Most look like they would struggle to bench press their own body weight.....Greg Little....15 reps recently. Sims....17 after being in the program for 5 years......pathetic

That Little number shocked me. That had to have been dead last and I bet hurt his draft stock. If it didn't, I don't know why they even do it.

I heard the announcers make a great point Saturday too that Rich Rod's offense should "protect the team" way more than what we've had the last couple years. The point is, the goal should be to not have so many three and outs (especially with incomplete passes) or even one and two play scoring drives. Basically shorten games. That could be huge if we can get close to doing it even.

So Luke doesn't have the stones to fire a s&c guy? I'm telling you Luke is not making any executive decisions. Someone else went out and brought in RR and Mac. They will have no loyalty or patience with him.

I’m almost sure they’re favored against us hahaha. I think Tiger High was like one of very few teams to be favored in all games next season

Memphis has a real coach. We have a moron that has to be propped up with former head coaches. I've never seen that work successfully.

Their defense is as bad or worse than ours though. Mizzou beat one of their best teams in school history 65-33 last year, and they're replacing the best RB they've had since DeAngelo Williams along with a lot of other guys.

We can easily lose, but it's not like the AAC is anywhere close to the P5 still. If our offense is functional, we should be good to score points in droves too. Their corners shouldn't be able to shut down anyone, much less the one position group at which we consistently recruit at a high level

frick Hugh Freeze and his star chasing and refusal to recruit kids who actually wanted to be here so he could instead lust after RBs our bagmen could never afford with the NCAA camped out on campus

Mark my words... we will never EVER compete in the SEC by targeting mostly 3* athletes and signing the occasional 4*. We will be bottom feeders for life if that is our strategy. Signing only "kids that want to be here" does not translate into wins.

So you think we should sign kids that don't want to be here? Yeah last year we had a shite ton of 3 stars but also 7 4 stars and a 5 star. On a cycle that was coming off of probation, and simply needed to restock the roster. Was it the greatest class? No. Did we miss a ton? yeah. But 2019 was a solid class. I'm not saying Luke is great or I'm a huge fan of his but to get a top 25 class when the entire time those kids were being recruited OM was on still under penalty? Yeah I'd say a kid is gonna have to "want to be here" to choose us over any other SEC while we have been under the NCAA's thumb.

You are not putting this into perspective. We lost out on most of the top talent from MS. We were ranked dead last in the SEC West. Both Freeze and Coach O proved that you can lure top talent to Ole Miss. You have to pursue them and you will get a lot of them. Simply sitting back and only taking local kids that grew up as Ole Miss fans will get us nothing. Along with our idiotic Mississippi Made campaign, we got very few of the top guys in the state to sign. This was in a year when MS had a bumper crop of talent out of HS. It's just not good enough. I will never be happy being last or even in the last half of the division in recruiting. Why should we be happy with that when we have had a couple of coaches come in and absolutely knock it out of the park in recruiting?

The only thing holding us back from winning is ourselves. We have slid back into this mentality that we cannot compete in recruiting with the big boys and have a coach that is an absolute joke. If we brought in a fireball coach that knows how to win (like Neal Brown or Bill Clark) we would be competing again soon. We are just wasting time with Luke. That move was nothing but wasted time and in effect has pissed off a majority of the fan base. That's why we only had 11,000 season tickets sold a week prior to the deadline.
