Unless Luke wildly exceeds expectations, he’s probably not going to be here that long anyway. At worst, he’s a placeholder to try to hold shite together well enough for the next guy to have at least some sort of foundation. It’s not like this season will be worth a damn if/when/once we lose our appeal anyway

2019 3* DT Lloyd Murray, Jr. out of Wichita Falls, TX committed today. He’s only a .8277 composite, but he has a very impressive offer sheet, which leads me to believe he’s underrated/would’ve been bumped up if he’d committed to Bama, or LSU, or Oklahoma, or many of the other schools that offered him. I hope he blows up his senior season, but stays loyal. Seems like a solid enough get though!

Both sides of the line very important in SEC recruiting.

Whats up with the Cantu kid from Christian Brothers in Memphis. Is he coming on as a preferred walk on? I watched him play several times this past season and he appears to be a quality big man. He played in a very similar offense and can move really well for someone listed as 6'5" 290 lbs.

If we are getting him without giving up a scholarship, I would consider that a major get. /he's very similar to Ben Brown and I've heard a read that Ben is now pushing for starting time at guard after coming in as a 3 star from a small private school.

I hope Ben Brown works out as well as the 3-star we took from MRA a few years ago. He was a MSU commit until we offered at the last minute.

Apparently Hilinski is leaning USCe or at least that’s what the South Carolina people think

People keep saying that, but if we finish last in the West for next 3 years will a better coach want the job?

Yes. There are much better coaches than Luke.

Yeah. Honestly, if we win 4 or fewer games this year, I wouldn’t be surprised if we move on. I know I’ll be calling for his head if that’s the case at least. We’re paying Luke in peanuts relative to other SEC coaching contracts, and hopefully our appeal and court proceedings will be done by the time it’s clear we have to move on (not necessarily when we should move on, which some would argue has already happened). Once we’re done paying a frick ton of lawyers to help us get out of sports jail, we’ll have more money to give someone who wouldn’t have found a way to lose to Cal, Arkansas, and aTm last year. Granted, if Luke hadn’t been such an idiot, we would’ve won 8 games, and we probably would’ve given him something resembling a big boy contract, which would be much worse than his JV contract.

Still, simply by nature of the money available, we can attract someone who wants this job and is better at it than Matt Luke. Hopefully it’s an Orgeron situation where we have a lot of talent on the field that just needs some halfway knowledgeable coaching to make consecutive Cotton Bowls (but by the same token, hopefully Luke’s successor actually tries to recruit and give a damn after Luke’s players graduate, unlike Hootie Dale)

Ryan Hilinksi just committed to Dan Werner and South Carolina. Hopefully that means that Grant Tisdale is committing soon. Continually getting kids from Allen is essential.

He put it out that he is committing very soon. Who are the major players for his commitment (besides OM)?

Neat. Now follow it up with a few 5 stars like we are used to getting and I'll be happy
