Lane has bounced around so much that he has only coached two QBs in consecutive years. While it's a small sample size, Corral might be in for a big season.

Matt Barkley, Southern Cal, 2010 - 2011
2010 - 236/377, 62.6%, 2791 yards (232.6 ypg), 26 TD, 12 INT
2011 - 308/466, 69.1%, 3528 yards (294.0 ypg), 39 TD, 7 INT

Chris Robinson, Florida Atlantic, 2018 - 2019
2018 - 192/304, 63.2%, 2533 yards (211.1 ypg), 12 TD, 12 INT
2019 - 291/471, 3701 yards (264.4 ypg), 28 TD, 6 INT

Matt Corral, Ole Miss, 2020 - 2021
2020 - 231/326, 70.9%, 3337 yards (333.7 ypg), 29 TD, 14 INT (with another 500 yards and 4 TD on the ground)
2021 - ????

I expect him to have a phenomenal season. If he cuts his turnovers down significantly and the defense as a whole makes some improvement I think the Rebels will have a phenomenal season.

Whats most exciting is Corral is easily the best QB he's ever coached.

I don't know if I would go that far just yet. Barkley was really damn good

Corral will definitely have a better nfl carrier.

Is that like an aircraft carrier?

If Corral can just keep himself from spiraling out of control and learn to trust his checkdowns, he's going to be really good this year. Our skill positions are loaded.

Extrapolating the average increase yields gains in every category with a corresponding decrease in interceptions. So if Matty makes an average Kiffin step he would throw for ~4500 yds with ~44 TDs to ~8 ints.

I’m already mentally preparing for it. It’s gonna happen somewhere. So glad we have some excitement back in the fan base.

Sorry to even put this out there, but some sort of Covid shutdown is my fear. Either with the wrong player at the wrong time, limiting fans or with the school in general. Damn I hope this doesn't happen.

I hope not, but you may be right. Given the disaster in Afghanistan, puddin brain's only move is to keep fear mongering with COVID to distract from the disaster that he is.

^This was not a political statement.

Obviously things could not go our way. But screw it all in on having a blast this season. Offense should be flying high. Our group of 12 already has our Kickoff game tickets. Cannot wait

I was never impressed with Barkley. I know he was the back up at the Jets for a while, I don’t know where he is now. I wonder why he never panned out.

Who would you rather have: matt Barkley or Jimmy Clausen?
