I hope Corral bulked up. I predict he doesn't make it through six games in this new run heavy O. Maybe RR will realize we can't afford to lose him.

I think he will our backs are too good for them not to get a lot of touches. Maybe we will see some direct snaps too.

Anyone know if John Rhys Plumlee will play any this year?

I was watching his high school tapes and the guy is a play maker.

We are going to have safeties playing linebacker this year

I believe the projected 4 LB's are Dasher (OLB), Sam Williams (OLB), Momo (ILB), and Lakia Henry/ Hibbler (ILB) please tell me where the safeties are at?

defensive backs are hilariously bad

Jaylon Jones and Custis are both back, they were very good the little the played before injury. Hartsfield is good enough, and Keidron Smith was a true freshman playing a large chunk of last season. How is the "hilariously bad"?

terrible offensive line

Which lineman? Newman? Brown? Givens? Matthews? I mean, what evidence do you have to say they will be terrible?

Ultimately you are just a miserable soul who wants to find your happiness making other people mad

Can we please just stop the same old damn arguments? We are making this board miserable to be on because no matter the subject, it always gets to this debate.

Both sides need to stop and focus on the thread subject.
These threads would not be allowed on the main Rant boards.

I think there’s a very good chance that Plumlee wins the backup job. If he wins that, I would imagine Plumlee would get to play in the four games allowed for redshirts.

I’m excited about this kid. I think he’s a perfect fit for this offense. I can’t wait to see him even if it’s just in mop-up duty against SELA.

I don’t know if two or three who are posting in this thread have ever had anything positive to say about OM. For that reason I really don’t think they are OM fans at all. I do not kid.

Insider, you're welcome to compare fandom with me.

My dad and grandfather went to Ole Miss. I went to Ole Miss. Dad used to take me to all of the home games starting when I was 4 years old. I am a Life Member in the Alumni Association. I was part of the now defunct Student Athletic Board. For 13 years, I went to every single game, home and away, no matter how far away was. One of my best friends was the dressed-up Col Reb for 3 years. I have a brick on the walk of champions. And to top it all off, I have a football letter, in the M Club Alumni, and my name is included in the new North Endzone Letterman area.

I'm sorry that I want more for our team and it sometimes shows in my posts.

What makes you more of a fan than me?

Landmass, with all that in your holster, I would never pretend to be more of a fan than you. I didn't even go to OM. I do have one there now, completely footing his own bill through his own achievements, I'll add.

That said, I'm likely a little older than you and have seen the Rebels ebb and flow through many seasons. You may be misreading me just a tad... I for one find it's far easier being an OM fan if you are at least trying to look at matters mostly in a positive or at least an optimistic light. Surely you can agree we are better positioned for more success this year than last. Possibly not at the rate you'd prefer, and I understand that as well. That was really my only point.

I applaud your dedication. I really do. Hotty Toddy!

I agree, I will take all those 3*s. if they had gone to Bama they would be 4*s! There was some solid talent in that group now let's coach them properly.

I think our offense will be decent at worst. RR's system will work well with the players we have. OL will be fine, won't be horrible but won't be elite.

Defense returns around 70% of its production, so we will at least be one year better than we were last year. There are some players on the defensive side of the ball; Momo, Custis, Jaylon Jones, Coatney, Williams, Benito Jones, etc.

Honestly, this season's success is totally predicated on whether or not RR and Mac make an immediate difference. If the players buy in and the fans don't bitch and leave after 2 quarters, this team could be a 7ish win team. Winning the Memphis game is of the utmost importance.

Winning at least 3 of the first 4 is the only way we make a bowl game.

There aren’t 4 wins out of our last 8:
at Bama
Vandy
at Missouri
A&M
at Auburn
New Mexico State
LSU
at State
