I didn’t know Genard Avery was drafted by the Browns in the 5th round and made their team. This is a kid that begged to come to Ole Miss and then the following year we pulled an offer from his fellow HS LB team mate. All to chase stars instead of really analyzing potential.

He developed into a good player. You can't be mad at the coaches for going after kids who are way more talented in their senior year. A lot of these kids that go to the NFL from smaller schools become so good because they hit their last growth spurt at 19 which turns them into monsters

Read this article and you tell me if our coaches did their due diligence or chased some stars?

Nah dude you don’t understand not offering Kentrell Lockett’s first cousin whose dream it was to play for ole miss(and who all Mississippi people wanted to be offered) to offer AJ Moore instead wasn’t Freeze’s fault in year 3. He’d only missed out on Nyles Morgan and Kenny Young earlier in the same class.

Oh and we took the Moore twins to try to get Jamal Peters and he went to state anyway haha

I just looked up that LB class. Bing-Dukes is ranked 50 spots ahead of him too Freeze chose that slow pos over Avery

Freeze's defensive recruiting would look like some sort of in-house program sabotage in any other context.

I was not and have not been impressed with the development of the Moore twins in the least. I know there have been injuries, but nonetheless. I had really high hopes for them when they first got to Oxford, but now I catch myself wondering if they have both already graduated.

The Moore twins are great athletes. My concern is how we could bring the heat with Hilton, Prewitt et. al. and now can’t even line up our coverages.

If you don't think he was a great coach then your opinion on any matter concerning football is irrelevant

It always amazes me that we have fans that think Freeze wasn't a good coach but then will support Luke because he's a good guy

Genard Avery was going to play linebacker no matter his size. Sederius Bryant was 5'9" and 215lbs. Denzel Nkemdiche was 6' 200 lbs when he was a freshman all-american. Freeze was slowly but surely losing his ability to sign any in state talent. I'm watching Gardner Minshew right now starting at Washington St. He wanted and would have come to Ole Miss and would have been a great back up for the Rebels. But he didn't have enough stars next to his name. Freeze was always going to take stars over need. Hell he signed 3 4 star TE's in the same recruiting class. 2 of the QBs he recruited are now playing TE another 4 star QB quit the team. We should move them to LB. They will never play at TE. I'm sure he thought he would catch the defense up eventually. But it was too late, The defense has been bad for 2 years and 3 weeks now.

I honestly don’t think Freeze was as good as a coach as people think he was. He underperformed with the talent he had. Terrible play calling and made bad decisions during the game. He is the reason we are in the shape we are now

He took the same players that went winless in the SEC and 2-10 overall and got them to a bowl game in year 1. He also put together a plan to get over 30 players out of academic trouble. I think you folks forget just how terrible of a shape our program was in prior to Freeze. People were actually thinking we would not win an SEC game for another 3-5 years because we did not have any talent at all on our team. Yeah, he really undercoached.
