They can’t help themselves with weak contact on the first pitch

I think we've hit into a dozen double plays this series too

Complete disaster of a week. This team will not be hosting.

Let's take a look at our upcoming SEC series.

Vanderbilt at home: Vandy will win 2/3
Oklahoma on the road: Oklahoma will win 2/3 or sweep
MSU on the road: MSU will sweep us
Auburn at home: Auburn will win 2/3

That will put us at 12-18 for the year if we lose tomorrow. The solution is simple: fire Mike Bianco.

Anything less than 500 in conference play and I'm on the Fire Bianco bandwagon.

I will say that up until this week the bats have over performed expectations. The team I'm seeing at the plate now is exactly the team I was expecting to see when I looked at our roster in January.

We had guys coming out of nowhere to hit over 300 in SEC play when they were career 260 hitters in some MAC level conference somewhere.

Now those guys are reverting to the mean.

I am so glad I've been out of the country since Monday and missed the last 3 games

I never allowed myself to get tricked. I’m not sure what I’ve won.

You should have opted to miss more.

We need to fire Bianco regardless of how we end the season. We have no identity.

Man, this weekend killed my give-a-shite tank. It's completely empty.

This is probably my biggest issue. I don't see a distinctive culture surrounding the program. And it shows most with recruiting. We are Top 5 in fan support, facilities, etc. But we are routinely average in high school recruiting as well as the portal.

This year's roster is an interesting study. Because it is bottom of the barrel as far as talent goes. There's a reason the SEC coaches picked us to finish 15th out of 16. And it's not because they don't respect Bianco. It's simply because this roster doesn't have the talent.

And that's on Bianco. I think he's done a decent job of coaching these guys. And doing the best with what we have. We could still host, which would be huge.

But it's crazy that we let so much talent get away. Either through the portal or through misses on recruiting.

We need a new coach to fix that.

This team really does not deserve to host.

They don’t have a series win against an sec team with a winning record and this weekend against Vandy will probably be their last opportunity for that

Gifted 3 wins because we play Missouri which is inflating our conference record .

Losing to Little Rock in midweek.

The team hasn’t earned the benefit of the doubt at all to squeak in as the #16 seed to host. I think the committee will reward someone else from a different conference anyway as the sec will be well represented from national seed/host sites before they even get to us

Yeah but attendance matters and optics matter. And it looks like shite on television to see empty seats in regionals. It helps that we will pack the place our regardless of how much we don't deserve to be there.

Bianco loves to go after guys like Roman Anthony who will never play an inning of college baseball. Just a waste of time and effort in recruiting players who are MLB locks.

And for some reason we haven’t picked up a big time pitcher since Hunter Elliot.
That was our identify forever. Strong Friday and Saturday starters who can win most three game series.

So, this is the pitching matchup for the Mayor's Cup this evening....
RHP Cade Townsend (1-0, 7.13 ERA) vs. RHP Noah Sullivan (0-0, 1.50 ERA)

D1 Baseball Regional Projections have 7 SEC teams hosting.

We are not projected as a host. They have us as a 2 seed in the Coastal Carolina Regional.
