So my source I mentioned just said he doesnt think Kiffin is their first or even second guy because he and the staff have been recruiting like mad. They haven’t slowed down

I honestly don't see him following Saban. He is set up next year to surpass Alabama anyway. He doesn't need the pressure that is in Tuscaloosa and I don't see Alabama's administration wanting to bring in Kiffin. The fans may want him but I doubt their AD does.

I don't think Kiffin will follow Saban. When the guy following Saban doesn't live up to the crazy expectations and gets canned year 3, I could then see Kiffin jumping

I can't imagine Kirby would leave and Sark will get a big raise or go. If we don't have a big buyout with us just recently renewing Kiffin's contract i will be pissed. I would also think Bama has a few before Kiffin.

The buyout is $20 million. I don’t know if that has specific clauses in it though excluding certain jobs. I know it’s a big reason Kirby Smart didn’t come in 2011 and we moved on to Freeze. He wanted Georgia to be that buyout exception

I don't think we worry about Bama. We should worry about Oregon. A lot of Bama's power players probably still don't like Lane or his antics, but Oregon wouldn't give a shite.

ETA: Should Dan Lanning be hired.

I'm sure this wasn't spur of the moment. I would think that the AD knew Saban was going to retire and they are probably already deep into the hiring process already. The fact that Lane has been recruiting so damn hard this year tells me that he isn't going anywhere. Hell, he may smell blood in the water on Alabama's roster. For the next 30 days, Alabama players are free to transfer.

Eh, they probably heard the news before it was announced. Y'all try to read into things a little too much.

Guarantee Kiffin has no problem with it

But didn’t Kiffin always say it would be a stupid move to be Sabans immediate successor? The expectations for the next guy will be higher than what Alabama has done over the last four years.

He’s better off waiting for Saban’s replacement to fail

I definitely see that happening. He’ll wait it out for three years and if we continue to win nine or more games of season for that long, then Alabama will absolutely money whip him.

That's what I see happening too. Only X factor is if he decides he needs to do well at a school like Oregon or Florida before jumping to Bama.
