Keith Carter has been nails for keeping Beard and Lane. His only knock is letting Mike hang around and bone us in baseball

I don’t think anyone in the AD cares about baseball.

Not anymore. It’s been a fun spring game for over 2 decades and we have been elite at it. But the money and viewership of football and basketball dwarf college baseball. It would be stupid to continue investing in baseball instead of funneling more to basketball

I was shocked they wanted to add on more to Swayze field with our football stadium being in the current state. I'd rather us hold that money over and keep Swayze (which is crazy awesome in the current landscape as is) untouched in order to funnel money into VHS down the line.

I think that combined with giving Beard more money and the impending collective bargaining stuff, is all why they scrapped it. Swayze is fine the way it is

I mean we got the only natty in baseball we will probably get in my lifetime.

Currently a top 10 team without much resources being expended. Not like anyone else is gonna be pouring resources into baseball either.
We’ll probably have the same baseball program we’ve always had.

Much rather be great at football and basketball.

Chalk me up as preferring baseball over basketball. But if we can make them both profitable sports, why not do it?

Because being profitable in basketball brings in a lot more money than being profitable in baseball

So we finished 18th in the Final AP Poll. One spot behind Iowa State who we just slaughtered. Also behind BYU who we beat. And also behind Wisconsin who didn’t even make the Sweet 16 because they were eliminated by BYU.

Women also finished 17th despite making the sweet 16. I get that a 12 seed making a run doesn’t automatically move them up in the rankings, but for a 5-6 seed I feel like it should.

Pop Isaacs to Houston hurts. Seemed like he was a lock early on. We really need to start hitting on some players out of the portal because we lose everyone besides Dia.

The prognosticators jumped the gun on that one.

I know y'all don't care, but if the men were reloading as fast and to the level that the women are, I'd be pumped.

Men have missed on their top 2 targets. Roster next year might be... Interesting...

Yeah we only have 6 players currently on scholarship. We need not only impact transfers but also need to fill the roster with depth pieces.

AJ Storr the Kansas transfer just committed. He was one of the top players in the portal last year but struggled this past season at Kansas. He was 2nd team all big 10 just two years ago at Wisconsin.
