I’d like to think that we’d be the kind of program who would cut them immediately and make them start paying for their own classes if they don’t want to fail (making them ineligible for their next school) but after seeing how we rolled out the red carpet to let Harbaugh take Shea Patterson we aren’t that program.

Absolutely. They had a commitment and didn’t stand by it. I know things might not have come together like they wanted but it’s certainly a good lesson. Still wonder why they wouldn’t just stay until the end of the semester. Why leave with most likely just two games left unless there’s more to the story?

I would assume so it's they have time to find a new program and get everything set up to enroll there in the spring.

Luke has confirmed that Miles Battle and Demarcus Gregory are likely leaving the program. I can't say I blame them. Both were 4* guys who are going to waste their careers away here under Rich Rod's scheme.

Very true. 4* WR's who were essentially lied to and underutilized. You don't have to be blood to be family. Right?

Article saying that in our AD search process we are telling people who interview that they need to keep Luke for at least one more year:

quote:

university leadership is stressing to candidates that retaining Luke for the 2020 campaign is in the best interests of the University, sources said.

quote:

However, Luke’s contract would place his buyout around $6.5 million and, when combined with the contracts of offensive coordinator Rich Rodriguez and defensive coordinator Mike MacIntyre, would push the cost of dismissing Luke well north of $12 million. University leadership has told AD candidates that is too much for the university to bear at this time.

Well, I'll say this. Arkansas is in the hole over $20 million after firing Bert and Morris. I hate Luke as our head coach but if we have to wait one more year to not have a shite ton of money to pay an old coach, then it could be best in the long run. Because to be honest, if we are going to get anyone decent, we are going to have to fork out some decent money and the less we owe Luke, the better.

I'm not on board with Luke being our coach but I understand why we are so screwed if we don't

The sad thing is that our glorious new Chancellor who was chosen through a totally legit process will probably renew Luke's contract, with a raise, and a higher buyout. WAOM

Pretty sure people have said his contract is setup so that it would automatically be renewed every year that we are on probation.. Assuming that's true, it won't be any cheaper to fire him next year

I think that would mean the 4th year, not the buyout which could be negotiated. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Any AD worth a damn will hopefully negotiate the contract so that he’s extended without increasing the buy out if we keep him. Not like he’s gonna leave us. If Keith becomes the AD I think and hope he would. He had the balls to do it to Bianco so I would assume he’d easily be able to do it with Luke.

Once again Tom Allen is coaching his arse off today. 24-27 in the 4th at Penn State with a backup QB.

I'm with you on Allen. He would be a good hire for us.

At the very least he should get serious consideration when we finally get rid of Luke

This game is hilarious. Just wait until Luke is the coach again next year. The admin shouldn't be shocked when it's even worse then.
