Ole Miss played like a really young team. Still, if the stupid hold doesn’t happen and if we punch it in, it’s a W.

I see how that could be taken after I said this season is over. I meant it like I feel bad for the guys not getting all the touches, but we have to play whatever way we can to make the outcomes in our favor, if that makes sense.

Still mad about our goal line play calling. Here’s another version with a 40 year old dude

That's the big problem with running these shotgun RPO plays. You need (less than) 1 yard and you're snapping the ball 4 yards back to begin with. You have literally just given the defense a 5 yard advantage to try and get into your backfield and stop the carrier. We need to be lined up under center and either have the QB immediately go over the top or give that running back a running start to jump over.

In regards to Plumlee's arm. Is our QB coach not working with this kid during the week on his throwing mechanics? Is our strength coach not doing his job and making this kid stronger? What's the deal here?

And watching Corral throw the ball...he has such a weird wind up that it takes him a while once he decides to throw to actually get the ball out. I wonder if this is where his accuracy falls? He tries to get it out quicker than his mechanics allow him to which results in a poor throw. Again this falls on our QB coach.

In all, I don't agree with the changing QBs out from play to play. Especially when you have to allow the defense to sub in. I wonder if there is a package we can run where both QBs are on the field at the same time and we just change who is behind center? That way we can make gameplan changes without allowing the defense to sub in the appropriate players and catch them off guard.

At some point, the dominoes have to fall and we have to pick one of the two QBs and put the other on the bench. My gut feeling is that we pick Plumlee because of his playmaking abilities, but I'm not going to count Corral out yet since he is still the more polished passer at this point.

Overall, I'm proud that we are showing some fight in the midst of adversity. A few coaching mishaps, a penalty, and a pass that was 3 inches too far kept us from winning that game. Those can be corrected with time and experience.

The only domino that has to fall is the entire coaching staff. Our improvements over last season are due to a couple of really mediocre coordinators. These are offset by some regression in other areas, so we suck just as bad as last year. Get rid of them all.

Meanwhile - Freeze is on a 4 game winning streak at Liberty.

Mark my words. He will be at Tennessee when they fire Pruitt. Fulmer doesn't give a frick about what the SEC home office wants.

Are you not satisfied with the job Mac has done with the defense?

Well, I started to only point out that LIberty's four wins are against teams with a combined record of 7-18, but one of those was against Buffalo who beat Temple who beat Memphis who beat us. So there's that.

It's better than it was but the fact that they keep making the same stupid penalties at about the worst times possible still tell me that they need better coaching. He's ok, I guess but I wouldn't give him better than a mediocre rating.

The guy is a miracle worker. Don't forget we put in a totally new D (3-4) to start the year, and he basically has one SEC caliber starter in Benito Jones.

I'm sorry but it doesn't take much talent from a player at this level to not jump off sides at a critical point in the game. You CAN teach that to anyone... or sit them on the bench. The fact that we had some really stupid targeting plays and really stupid penalties tells me that more can be done. While you are busy playing this weird ex-HC coordinator game, I'll take a whole new staff, please.

Missouri had allowed 147 yards rushing on 119 carries in it's previous 4 games combined. That's against 2 P5 and one of the top G5 schools over the last few years. We ran for 205 yards on 42 carries with a bunch of freshmen and a bad OL. I'd love to see what we could do with a good OL.

This is true. It honestly shows how important Plumlee is to our offense. When we try standard running plays where we hand off and try to block a gap in the line we get stuffed the vast majority of the time. I'd love to know the stuff rate for our line on handoffs and compare that to the plays Plumlee makes just getting creative.

If I thought he could survive, I'd be for Plumlee just taking every snap in the shotgun and improvising every single play like I see some high schools do with their best athlete. However, he took way too many big hits Saturday. He is fast as hell and fearless, but super human he ain't. Eventually one of those shots is going to land him in the concussion protocol and that's something I don't want to see and our team dang sure doesn't need.

If we had any semblance of a QB coach, we would be transitioning him to some short pass plays designed for his abilities. We don't seem to be coaching him into a better player with the passing skills needed or plays needed to keep him from getting his head knocked off.
