Ole Miss is 33rd in the country in scoring offense. Red Zone efficiency is a problem as it has been since Freeze started. The two are not one in the same.

We ran up the score on shitty teams with shitty defenses. What do you expect? We had a hard time scoring on any team with a pulse.

Ok, we need a new term to describe all the teams we couldn’t score against. I’m tired of hearing about their pulse.

Okay, let's take a look:
Team: Points scored, Defensive Ranking
Rankings from https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/years/2018-team-defense.html
-----------------------------------------
Texas Tech: 47, #86
Southern Illinois: 76, NR
Alabama: 7, #4
Kent State: 38, #117
LSU: 16, #22
ULM: 70, #95
Arkansas: 37, #108
Auburn: 16, #18
USC: 44, #66
Texas A&M: 24, #58
Vandy: 29, #50
MSU: 3, #1

So, average points against teams in each range:
1-50: 15.4 pts
51-100: 46.25 pts
101-130: 37.5 pts

So, against top 50 defenses, our offense was pretty anemic with scoring. Outside of the top 50, we could put up points.

If you want to just look at the 3 teams we played that finished ranked, then that would be Alabama, LSU, and MSU, in which we averaged a paltry 8.6 points. Let's look at those ranked teams a bit more and see who scored more points against them than we did:

Alabama: Louisville, Texas A&M, ULL, Arkansas, Missouri, TN, CIT, Auburn, and Georgia

LSU: Miami, Auburn, Louisiana Tech, Florida, Arkansas, and Texas A&M

MSU: Stephen F Austin, KSU, ULL, Florida, Auburn, Texas A&M, and Arkansas

So, how about our offense simply sucked against any decent defense (top 50). It was especially horrible against any ranked opponent.

I'm not sure the top 50 would be just decent. In my eyes those would be good defenses.

I'm glad you did that though because I kept asking for some to describe what "decent" meant to them. Or what "pulse" meant to them.

As I've said several times. We nitpick the offense apart because our defense was atrocious. The offense had red zone woes. Play calling at times could be shakey. One can use the eye test and come to the conclusion that some of the stuff done on offense didn't make sense. All of that said, the offense scored alot of fricking points on average to below average defenses. Like I've said a million times, I don't think the scheme works on top talented defenses that match up athletically.

You hoped the same about the program when Freeze was coach apparently.

May as well give up on Dores seeing the light.

He’s enamored with our total yardage despite the inability to score.

Top 10 offense.

Top 30 in scoring.

That’s an issue.

Six players minimum on offense getting drafted. Doubt another offense in the nation can boast that. Three of the top 10 receivers.

I’ll reiterate they couldn’t coach their way out of a wet paper bag. Especially after AJ’s comment. Hur dur guys we gon’run “get open” on wet fart 2.

Nope. I wasn't thrilled with the hire but after hearing him speak at his introductory press conference, I was bought in

What is your deal bro? You keep saying that. Knox hasn't even declared for the draft. Jordan probably won't get drafted.

You keep arguing semantics. Top 30 of 131 schools is damn good. It's 6th in the SEC.

If getting the last word makes you feel better you got it man. This is my last post about this. We obviously agree to disagree. The numbers imo don't lie.Top 5 passing offense, top 10 total offense. Once again if the defense was better we'd be frustrated with the red zone but we wouldn't even be talking about the offense at all.

Oh after they quit in the second half against Vandy? Yeah I didn't watch the Egg Bowl after that abysmal game
