Like watching the end of the Kermit years.

However, unlike Kermit, I do think Beard can learn from this and rebound next year.

Ole Miss basketball is an enigma. It defeats any coach that tries to touch it.

For whatever reason we can’t get high caliber players here. Any 5 star in the state goes to state or elsewhere.

Need to go pay for a star and quit getting overseas players.

I'd rather focus on football and baseball, TBH

It’s just astonishing how many things we do poorly on the basketball court.

Just bring back AK. That was probably the peak of Ole Miss basketball during the Marshall Henderson years.

Eh. Gonzaga has proved getting overseas players work. We just need more investment. I knew this season was in trouble last year when we kept missing on all of our targets

We have the right coach obviously. We just need to get him the players.

Being better at Basketball is better for our national brand than baseball is. If there’s a choice between which needs to be invested in more, mens basketball wins by a mile. Mississippi State is all in on baseball because of nostalgia and look at what it’s done to their entire AD as a result

I'm with with HJ, and I know this isn't a popular opinion on here, but to me it's football, men's basketball and everything else. Yeah, I know it's tougher to compete in hoops. Yeah I know our hoops history sucks. Yeah I know this is a baseball region. But as has also been discussed college baseball is very much regional and from a national standpoint, it isn't close to basketball. Maybe it's an unobtainable goal for a variety of reasons, but I'd sure like us to be elite at basketball over baseball.

Exactly. And the people that say we can’t be elite at basketball because of our history need to look no further than Indiana football as an example for why that’s wrong.

And we have a coach that is capable of getting us there. Give him what he wants/needs.

LSU has a strange subset of fans that can’t stand men’s basketball and refuse to acknowledge it’s a popular sport the school needs to invest in. I know LSU is feeling confident Wade will come back as NC State was misleading about their NIL promises. However some fans have this odd theory that you have to choose between baseball and basketball which is dumb as frick.

Our baseball coach is pissed we give more revenue sharing to women’s basketball than baseball which I can understand. I would imagine that changes the second Mulkey retires.

The same coach that gave us a Kermit level team this year?

Yall would be high as a kite to part ways with Chris Beard. I think he’s shooting for a higher status job than LSU but would kill for him to be in BR

Yea I’m giving him a pass for this year. This is just the issue with the current state of college sports. The majority of the starting lineup for teams will have a turnover every year bringing in transfers.

Yes. The same coach that took us to a Sweet 16 in his second year an has coached for a national championship at Texas Tech

Beard is a legit top 10 (maybe top 5) coach in the country. Anyone upset with him is high

Not upset - I'm just not much of a basketball fan. And yes, I'm normally high this time of day.

Yep, they’ve lost 5 of 7. That ship has likely sailed.

Yo is such a bipolar program

They’ll beat #3 Vandy and then lose to several unranked teams and kill all momentum the program may have had

Happens every year

The NCAA has approved a waiver granting Ole Miss guard Ilias Kamardine an additional year of eligibility.
