They couldn't have kept Moorhead another year. They would have had a worse year on the field and attendance than we did. That guy was hated by everyone in Starkville

Maybe, but they could have fired him right after the eggbowl and had a shot at a decent coach. What are they going to do now? I bet Mullen is counting his blessings in getting that offer from UF.

Welp, things are gonna get real interesting. I prefer kiffin, but that’s a coup for state after bungling the Moorhead situation

Yep, they did better than I thought... I guess. Leach's tenure at State could be great, a disaster with that type offense or just somewhere in between. I suppose you can say that about most coaches.

I think its a great hire, but they don't have the personnel to run a Leach offense right now. What are they paying him?

I honestly think their hire will turn out either really horrible (plenty of 3/4/5 win seasons) or pretty average (6/7/8 win seasons). I just don't see his ceiling being higher than 8 wins which will be an accomplishment.

The way I see the leach hire is he does better with less. He will not be a premium recruiter which in turn benefits us, however I think that he will win some games he shouldn’t.

That’s if they let him get his personnel in and transition the roster how he likes it. This is a long term commitment IMO because he will make the roster unlike any other past MSU coach.

This hire will keep MSU average 6-8 wins with the once every 4 years ten win team and then the once every four year 4 win team. The biggest concern for me if I was Cohen would be if the fan base would be patient.

As an ole miss fan, I am excited that Kiffin is recruiting against mike leach for in state recruits thoTBH

Dont see any elite RB wanting to be in the air raid of Leach. So comparatively we will be the better spot for in state RB choosing between the two.

As far as WR recruiting we can point to our NFL talent and the lane kiffen jeff lebby systems.
We should still get better wr but their wr room will take a step up.

Their defense recruiting should suffer too.. like ours few years back when the defense was on the field.. 70% of the game. More stats to stuff with more time on the field.. but also wear and tear.eh toss up

He will be interesting and i think his high functioning autistic ways are entertaing. I think he will win 6 games next year because of the soft schedule.
And go on to be a 7-8 win coach.

After reading the article reddit breakdown of article and link from all his former qbs i really see the good and the bad with him and his system.
In fact i plan on reading his novel shortly
