Dude is from Florida, so maybe that was at least some of it. But FSU must have broken out the check book to flip him cause I can’t imagine another reason to go to that implosion in progress. I’ll admit, though, that he sort of has that look as a dangerous edge guy one day, but who knows. Norvell does not impress me in the least and never has. Thank God we didn’t pull the trigger on him a few years back.

They flipped a kid from LSU that was pretty solid but Florida State had a mass exodus of their class and losing a lot of players. From what LSU understood Florida State had a lot to overspend for kids that other schools wouldn’t overpay for. Their depth and talent situation is somehow worse than LSU’s

With the season they had and Norvell being forced to can his coordinators their class fell apart. They had tons of money and like Lee made a finacial decision. Did anyone see the 5* OL they had committed until his OC got canned interview. He signed with LSU but supposedly during his signing ceremony he took a couple calls, signed with LSU but the last sentence was “I wish I could go to FSU”.

It sure would have been nice to have him this year.

Yeah we don’t have the best luck with some of the premier receivers.. I always wonder what could have been with Metcalf.. and then of course Treadwell’s gruesome injury.

It’s not the system.

Losing to Kentucky at home was inexcusable. Losing to Florida on the road late in the season was the kill shot.

I’m not saying any team “deserves” to be in the playoff with 3+ losses but I could fully see a 3 loss team winning it all (us this year).

Personally I’m just waiting for the 32 team playoff. 10 game regular season, no conference championships. Maybe have the games be played at different bowl sites? Or the higher seed hosts the game on campus for the first couple rounds. You could do an auto bid for the “big 4” conference winners but they don’t automatically get a higher seed (similar to baseball & basketball). The rest are at large. Probably have to go with some sort of computer system to determine the 28 at large spots. Lord knows the committee doesn’t need to determine it.

Will you have a #30 team win a natty? Most likely never. But will it be extremely awesome to see a Cinderella knock off a top seed? Hell yeah. Plus it’d add to the parity of cfb, and give more teams something to play for. Instead of playing for a lowly 6-6 bowl they’d be playing for a playoff spot.
