If we’re in the playoffs Florida couldn’t wait that long to hire Kiffin anyway. If we don’t make it then this season is a failure and it wouldn’t sting as bad if Kiffin left.

Exactly right. Saban’s press comments were never actually for the press or fans. They were for his players or occasionally $$ boosters.
