My understanding is that LSU coaches promised him day one starter and he barely saw the field at all. Not saying that makes it any better or was the only reason for it but that is what I heard.

Any idea what his HS coaches say about him? I can see being disillusioned with Kelly and his staff. With Jimbo gone, I think Kelly is biggest douche coach in the SEC now.

I couldn’t imagine playing for Brian Kelly is particularly fun anyway. Probably just hated it there due to his shitty personality and broken promises

What are these broken promises from Brian Kelly? As far as personalities-to be fair there aren’t many characters like Ed Orgeron, Les miles, Lane Kiffin, etc. the players actually seem to really like him. He’s dry but man LSU has had les miles and Ed Oregon for 15 years. It was exhausting not hearing anything said noteworthy and insane blunders with top 5 rosters

LSU guys seem to think Zalance Heard wanted to start at OT and didn’t want to wait for Campbell to go pro after next season. I think LSU was willing to meet NIL demands but they weren’t promising him a starting job

No WadeWilson came on here talking shite about Heard and how thier OL coach was so incredibly awesome and I called him out for doing that on an Ole Miss board. Guess while I was out working he said something about me calling him a douche twaddle like Brain Kelly.

I think your fan base over-rates Brian Kelly immensely. You’re paying a guy $100 million who is probably a middle of the pack SEC coach. And then you see posters on tiger rant put him on the same level as Nick Saban and Kirby Smart.

We pay him the market rate to poacha coach at a school like Notre Dame. Plus he inherited a mess and got us back to back 10 win seasons. I think LSU goes 10-3ish again with year 4 the one fans are circling. Our schedule is insane but excited for USC in Vegas

To add I’m in full agreement that Kiffin is a way cooler coach. I’d imagine he’s quite a sell on the recruiting trail. Kelly is dry as frick but honestly refreshing compared to Les miles and Ed orgeron doing the Soulja boy around campus and drooling on themselves for 15 years

fwiw LSU's coaching staff would be FAR from the first break some sort of promise to a recruit.
