Looks like the DB transfer from Miami will be eligible to play this season. Chris Graves

Maybe we are throwing some real money around. Looks like we are in the top 4/5 for 5* WR Ryan Wingo. From St Louis and is the #2 WR in the country on 247.

Looks like it's us, Missouri, Texas, and UGA.

If you look at Wingo on 247's page, Jeff Lebby is listed as the lead recruiter for OM. Quite strange.

I guess today is some big day for the Grove Collective... Like a day of giving?

Anyways, it looks like they've raised $600k so far today.

just a friendly reminder all they wanted was just a couple hundred more bucks on the stipend to help buy groceries and diapers for their kids but people threw a bitch fit about that.

That's really all I heard about from players back when I worked for the AD. They weren't asking to be rich or anything.

It was probably still inevitable but the refusal to budge back then absolutely caused the insanity that you're seeing now.

Well, it doesn't suck, but it's definitely searching for a suckling teet.

They’ll just have to implement a cap system and year based contracts (like the NFL) to support any type of stability.

At this point, the rich have a heavy advantage and constant transfer turnover makes it impossible to build up for future predictions (see why we keep recruiting QBs… undoubtedly one or two will transfer our)

We are just in the toxic, turbulent era of change… change I think will settle out and be better. We are already seeing the transfer portal increasing parity across CFB

The NIL isn't a salary. The NFL comparison would be an endorsement. The money State Farm pays Aaron Rodgers doesn't count against the Jet's salary cap.

Lol I couldn’t name 10 players getting NIL deals with companies or organizations not associated with the school they play for.

It’s pay for play funded by boosters of each school. But you’re right even if we had profit sharing and salary caps Texas Oil Money could still pay players outside of that. It’s a shite sandwich that will eventually get out of hand and only a handful of schools will be able to compete for titles.

Best thing they could do is eliminate
the one free transfer rule, so there isn’t so much turnover. You are free to leave whenever you want but you have to sit out a year. That would re-emphasize traditional high school recruiting/ development.

Doesn't seem like much of a loss.

2020 (FRESHMAN): Played in the final five games of his true freshman campaign exclusively on special teams ... Did not record any stats

2021 (SOPHOMORE): Appeared in four games as a sophomore and was redshirted ... Saw a majority of playing time on the field goal block unit

2022 (REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE): Missed the entire season due to injury.

But it still isn't the school so it isn't a salary.

Absolutely correct. Eventually you'll see a typical market correction that you see whenever anything is overly inflated. NIL is still fairly new so people are naturally going to give more than the average. Unfortunately, I see this causing even more of a disparity between big schools and the smaller.
