Dillon Gabriel officially in the transfer portal. If Lebby stays I think this is QB1 for next year. Lebby recruited him to UCF and coached him before coming to ole miss. Was out early this year for the season due to injury.

We’re taking a transfer QB to come and start first day. If Rattler wants to come and start game one he will.

I don’t think you bring in someone like rattler or Gabriel to ride the pine. Think of when we brought Chad Kelly in. He was the starter before he stepped on campus. Luke will have his shot this off-season but is gonna have to show some serious growth quickly. Kiffin isn’t here give a QB 2-3 years to grow into a starting QB with game reps. We got lucky Matt Luke did that for us with Corral.

WTF? Luke sticking Corral on the bench for a year was the most stupid fricking thing possible. That did not help Corral at all. Luke didn't know how to coach a team and that's the truth of the matter. Good riddance to Matt Luke. He should have been fired in 2014. We would have won a NC in 2015 with a decent OL.

I’ll give Luke credit for Fahn Cooper because striking out on Gennessy and Karreem Are almost cost us a whole lot more losses when Tunsil got popped

I wasn’t clear enough with how I worded that.. yeah I don’t want to give Matt Luke credit for any of his development I was just trying to say Matt Luke had no plan to win immediately.

UVA insiders are saying that their QB, Brennan Armstrong, is looking to transfer to us. Would be a grad transfer situation. Here's his UVA stats page:

We will be linked to every QB transfer this year. I’m not sure who Kiffin and Lebby will prefer but they will have options.

Suntarine Perkins a top 100 recruit from Mississippi just committed to us. He’s a junior and really is a nice start to next years class.

6'3 and 200 pounds. Looks like he plays RB, WR and Safety in high school. Any idea what position were recruiting him for?

He’s a linebacker. That kid will be 225 by the start of his freshman year. Can’t remember the last time we got a stud linebacker recruit.

I have no reason to think Altmyer can't have a bright future. Whether or not he gets the opportunity to grow into an SEC starting qb remains to be seen

I’m assuming he redshirted this year right? Did he play in more than 4 games? Honestly not sure.
So next year he would be a RS Freshman if so. If we go portal for a one and done QB this year then he could be primed for the job as a RS sophomore.
But as mentioned with Kiffin we will be a hot name for any big QB transfer. Just have to make sure Kiffin gets his guy. If he has a QB that can do what Lane wants him to do we will have a high ceiling yearly.
