We've been out of a HC for 3 months. They fired theirs today and already are ahead of us in candidates. Can we please get this stupid NCAA thing off our backs?

We're not making any moves until the sanctions come down, and probably won't then, either.

Depending on the sanctions, we are going to suck bad for the next 3-5 years, and why waste any money on a spectacular head coach until there is light at the end of that tunnel, and why would any coach worth his salt even consider us for any amount of money when he is going to have the sanctions albatross around his neck for an untold number of years.

In short: we're fricking fricked.

What moves are you guys expecting? No one is hiring anyone until the season is over.

There a many good coaches out there who would likely come to Ole Miss amidst any sanctions for $4 million. Plus a small cast of decent assistants. It’s money we evidently have. I can only assume the latter.

Well good, because clearly we don't have any of these. A bunch of gas pumpers at best. What a resume ruiner this season has been.

Ross already has his top 3. He's been on this since August, when he hired the search firm.

Bjork: we've narrowed it down to the HC from EMCC, the head coach from Simmons High School, and Phil Longo

Would be the most WAOM hire ever. We would take the lead in 85% of our games only to loose the game once the opponents DC figures out the 3 plays after the 1st Qtr.

Florida is working with a different set of candidates than us, so it doesn't matter. The names that seem connected with them are a guy we wouldn't touch (Mullen) and some we can't get (Kelly, Frost, Taggart, Fuente). The only duplicates are guys like Norvell and Satterfield, who likely aren't big enough fish for Florida.

Your point about the delay is taken, though. It'll be near impossible to have a coach in place right after the Egg Bowl if the sanctions haven't even come down by then.

Every time I see the words "when the sanctions come down" I know what people mean, but the only thought I have is shite, our sanctions started a long time ago.

1) you don't know what you're talking about

2) Ross does, however, have a good idea of what our sanctions will be. But he can't reveal them publicly. Or, to any prospective coaches. And at this point, that's where the conversation starts and stops. Until that is behind us, our coaching search can't really even begin.

Ross had a Top 6. He has narrowed it to a Top 3.

Start following the Ole Miss plane.

As best I can tell, they really hit top gear the night Tunsil stuck his foot so far down his throat he hit colon. Why the hell he wasn't better coached to just say "no comment" or better yet just "no" is beyond me.
