Updated with rumored names under consideration. Obviously still too early to know who is serious or not.

I don't want j. Leavitt. Seems like just another old guy that teams will pick up on.

Don't want Allen or McGriff because it's much of the same.

I think Strong might get another chance at HC.

I just want a young fresh mind. Someone young guys relate to that can bring some fire and scrap this 4-2-5 bs.

Have you watched Colorado? He took a team that finished 10th or worse in defense in the Pac 12 four straight years before he got there and has coached the best defense in the Pac 12 this year. No talent, talk about getting the best out of players.

The year before he got there they were 11th in total defense in the Pac, improved to 7th his first season and now 1st playing for the Pac 12 championship. At Colorado!

He also took USF from coaching out of a motor-home to national relevance and coached linebackers in San Fran after under Harbaugh(Patrick Willis).

Leavitt would completely turn this team around. His 3-4 attacking scheme is exactly what we need to counter Bama's new offense. Agree about Allen and McGriff, we need a change from the 4-2-5. Wouldn't mind having McGriff back in another capacity. Strong will get a HC job. Leavitt is the answer. Have no confidence in Freeze to make it happen though

Leavitt's work kinda speaks for itself, but I can understand wanting someone younger.

What about the guy from Washington under Leach?

We need somebody seeking a head coaching job in the next 5 years and trying to make a name for himself and working to impressing people...

This grabbing someone who's been around for 30 years and wanting to just maintain is not the direction we need to go.

Whoever they hire should be empowered to pick his staff and run things his way

We better throw the damn bank at Charlie Strong. Knock Freeze's pay down a little bit and get Strong in Oxford. That would be a big name hire that would breathe a little life back into our program.

Why? The guy basically became the DC/HC at Texas since the Cal game and managed to lose to Kansas.

Have you seen Charlie Strong's track record? It basically speaks for itself. He can recruit and motivate as well as anyone. Don't let his time at Texas dilute your opinion of him. He's a quality head coach who was put into an unwinnable situation. He never had the necessary support from the administration, boosters, or fans.

If you really want to roll the dice, what about Corey Raymond? Dude is a top 10 recruiter and has worked under Pelini, Chavis, Aranda, and I believe Saban.

Also on another note, the rebs should go get Larry Porter to join the staff

So many of the fans seemed more worried about a splash big name hire. I could give a damn if anyone knows who they are. I just want that up and coming guy who is trying to prove himself. Not that guy who is looking for somewhere to retire in a few years.

Same. Not to mention no big hire is even going to look at coming here with the lack of talent and NCAA over us. I want a younger up and coming DC probably coming from a non P5 conference that's going to come in here like a bolt of lightening to energize the defense and defensive recruiting.

The more I read about Alex Grinch the more I like him. He's the young, energetic defensive coordinator that we need. I also don't think that Freeze's HUNH offense would frighten him at all. He's used to it coming from Washington State.

I don't know if you are trying to paint Leavitt in that light, as someone who is just trying to maintain, but that isn't him. He is trying to work himself back up the ranks after that USF fiasco, proving he has enough football IQ for a school to give him another chance. Dude was a candidate for jobs like Bama and Florida before that ordeal with the walk on.

I like Charlie Strong, just highly doubt he'd come here. Mike Elko on Wake Forest is someone to look at also, he was on the 247 list and the dude can coach.

Love Phil Snow on Temple also but he's 60 like Wommack. Defense has been top 5 in the nation 2 of the past 3 seasons. Allowed 17 points per game in 2014, 20 in 2015, and 17.8 this year. Consistently on the Broyles watch list.

I would love strong to come in. His mentality with Freeze would really help the image of our program

I think Strong would be a great hire and would bring some life to recruiting but I think he's getting another head coaching job

What about this guy as a possibility?

He's currently making 700k/year. Not sure what kind of relationship him and Freeze have.

Heard Aranda was at the top of Hugh's wishlist. Sounding like if he leaves LSU though it is for Texas to join Herman. At least if it is true, Hugh is aiming big. Bjork has said he will pay 7 figures.
