There has been some scuttlebutt today on twitter that Coop deVille is back. Can anyone confirm or deny?

I don't know, but if so, put me down for an order of potato skins, a Ranchero and bacon cheddar fries.

there's a new wing joint called Southern Coop.

It's been open less than a week.

From the looks of it, it's similar in name only.

The lady who ran the kitchen at Coop runs Mrs. C’s Wings in Water Valley. Southern Coop has a very similar menu to OG Coop, but if it doesn’t take 4 hours to get to me after placing my order, likely arriving after I have passed out into a drunken stupor, it is not the authentic Coop experience

Went to Oxford last year for a wedding for the first time since graduating and was sad to see it wasn't there. I was hoping we would all get drunk, call Coop and get the food 3 hours later like old times

The trick was ordering at the bar.

Bacon ranchero and sweet heat wings for me.

Coop was some weird magic that happened when I was in school at Ole Miss.

I would just call a number and chicken from Heaven would arrive 15 minutes - 2 hours later.

3 1/2 years in Oxford and I never actually knew where Coop was in town.

It was pre-Internet days
