Anyone who says we are giving an ultimatum knows nothing. Maybe someone told Kiffin we would like to know by a certain date, but ole miss has 0 leverage. We can’t fire a winning coach with a $44 million buyout just because he won’t sign an extension

That would actually be dumber than LSU.

If we fire him, I’m gonna be done watching football. That would be fricking retarded.

Yeah I would want Carter immediately fired if he pulled that dumb shite.

But Carter isn’t stupid and Neal McCready needs to have his credentials taken away for putting this dumb shite out there.

Eh…. Some shite got said in that room apparently. I thought the hats were a mea culpa by Lane but then he went and talked out the other side of his mouth again cause his feelings are hurt.

He just needs to sign the shite and move on to the state game.

The little come to Jesus meeting that was had between Keith and Lane. Nothing is fricked up, but I’m just surprised he went back to the “I don’t talk about this durning the season” shite. He really is a strange dude.

Well good on Keith for having the meeting. I get Kiffin being a little miffed about it, especially if all the discussions had been happening with Sexton and not Lane. Hopefully it’s just a hiccup and they make up during the bye week.

I do think with his press conference comments tonight, Kiffin has forced the issue to the point of needing an announcement before the Egg Bowl. And he has a bye week and the next week to get it done

I just actually watched that video. I’d only seen the quote. fricking clickbait arse reporting is leaving out his last sentence. “I love it here.”

I don't have a problem with what Lane is doing or saying. Let's beat MSU in 2 weeks and host a playoff game. If he doesn't sign his extension before the CFB game is played in Oxford I'd have a problem with it because it'd really hurt us recruiting wise and in the portal.

Yeah I’m officially done with Ole Miss. I’ll keep rooting for Lane because I like him.

I just watched the press conference too and yeah, even though he didn’t say he is staying, that quote and short video don’t look nearly as bad when you watch his full answer

Yeah but it wasn’t we are prepared to fire him. We would owe him stupid money and look ridiculous for any new potential coach.

Yeah I know that, it was more along the lines of do you want to be here or not and I was under the impression everyone left on the same page. Seeing that full quote in the post game and not the clipped version, I think he and Keith are on the same page.

I would love for him to sign an extension now. If you thought the noise was loud this weekend just wait for the egg bowl. Good news is he’s still under contract. If he leaves then there is a process for that. I’m also sure any extension that was drafted includes a deadline to accept. My guess is that the deadline is some time just after the egg bowl. If he doesnt accept by then, then I’m sure the admin will turn up the pressure.

Someone please tell our idiot SOS to shut up about Lane. Leave the political meddling to Jeff Landry.

This is strictly supposition, but I would think Kiffin himself would want to make a decision by Dec. 3rd. Wherever he intends to coach next year, you would think he'd want recruits to know by then, would you not?

It has to be before that regardless of what Lane wants. He fits all the hallmarks of a narcissist.

Lane tonight on the weekly zoom interview:

quote:

“I think those of you that cover me, they’ve seen for six years how we answer these questions. We don’t discuss them during the season and don’t go into them,” Kiffin said. “I don’t why there would have been that fan narrative. Somebody said both fans had a narrative they thought was happening. Which, I don’t know why that would happen. Besides just fans being fans. That’s why they’re fans.

“Basically, it’s like a policy of we don’t talk about it. So we never have. So why would they think, in season, all of a sudden that would happen. That certainly didn’t come from any, (or) shouldn’t have come from anyone that’s listened to our press conferences over the years.”

He really is that goofy. Like he really thinks we should be able to read his mind.
