No idea how Pete will work out - but on paper he's a million more times qualified to be a HC than Matt Luke ever was

I'm all for Pete as interim, but just handing it to him permanently?

I wasn't even 100% sold on him as the DC

Yeah heard Joe Judge will stay on as OC so that probably keeps Trinidad for next year if he’s eligible. Ryan Day has the best team in the country and was promoted from within as well.

At least Pete won’t embarrass us on Twitter.

The entire defensive staff is staying and the entire offensive staff is leaving (minus Judge) - has that been confirmed?

Pete and Joe, both staying, should keep a good portion of the roster. Only time will tell whether this was the right decision.

But frick it, we ride

Can't tell if you're being serious or making a Matt Luke joke

I hope this is the move that Keith has contemplated and been setting up for weeks. And not just a panic move.

Either way I’ve got a really bad feeling

I’m being serious. Trying to look for positives.

Hmm, might have been better to keep him as interim for a few weeks, if only because hiring a new permanent head coach triggers the ability for players to announce intent to transfer. At least that’s my understanding.

From McCready on 24/7:

quote:

Per an industry source, Ole Miss has agreed to double the pay of all offensive staff and they're staying with Ole Miss on Golding's staff.

Billy Glasscock was always leaving with Kiffin. Don't be shocked if Austin Thomas returns to Ole Miss as Golding's GM. That part isn't confirmed at all. The first part about the offensive staff is.

Big dick move by OM.

The players all want Pete Golding to get the job. We hired Luke to keep a 5-7 roster together this isn’t anything like that. Golding might get the job but if he can keep an 11-1 roster intact I’m not sure there is a better hire. Auburn and Florida both hired our top targets.

If we can keep the majority of the coaching staff in place than it’s an easy decision to promote from within. It would also be a middle finger to Kiffin that the majority of his staff stayed.

You're talking about a roster of players recruited from high-school to play at Ole Miss vs players who came here for the money and have been here 1 year

What offensive staff is staying? One post sounds like all offensive staff except Judge is leaving, the next says all offensive staff pay is getting doubled. So who else is staying from our offense

After all this deliberation, and contemplating the size of KC and Boyce’s nads, I think our administration won and I’m proud. LFG!
