Seems more like he was on social media trolling everyone until everyone basically figured out what his plan was

I'm at 99% sure he was asked to stop riling up the fanbase by us. It's as simple as that. Doesn't mean anything. It just means he was asked to stop.

Man, they will kill a thread with the quickness on the CC board.

All day Friday they were killing any thread about Saban to LSU. It was weird

At the end of the day, if Kiffin leaves, the national media will rake him over the coals. If we lose the Egg Bowl, he'll take the heat for the distractions. The only way for him to come away unscathed is to remain and just say he told everyone he doesn't talk about things during the season. He's backed into a corner.

If we beat state and he announces he's staying then we win our first playoff game then the whole thing blows over

He has pissed off a lot of people. He'd need to win the press conference to win them back. This whole thing has been wild.

I do think that KC must have told him to quit trolling our fanbase unless he's 100% sure he's signing. That or he's seen all the negative comments about it and decided to stay away from twitter

There is absolutely 0 chance he is staying. Don’t kid yourselves.

From Chase on 247 tonight (at least according to reddit - I don't have a 247 account)

quote:

Sources tell me Florida could move on from Kiffin in the coming days and be the first of the three schools wrapped in the Lane experience to announce its next coach this week. As I’ve said, if Florida gets Kiffin, I’ll just applaud and be impressed by the clandestine search. Sumrall is a finalist for that position in Gainesville, and Florida likely won’t wait on him until the weekend. So, again, in the context of Ole Miss’ odd timing, is there a world where Sumrall would tell Florida no to gamble on Ole Miss or on Kiffin to leave? I don’t know that answer.

Extremely.

If we miss out on Sumrall, and other top options, because we let Lane string us along I will be pissed.

Ole Miss not announcing any verbal commits these past two Sundays is not a good sign imo.

If we end up missing out on Sumrall, at least KC gave us a really neat statement after his meeting with LK on Friday.

I still feel like Sumrall and his representation know what’s coming. And I would be willing to bet they are fine waiting 2-3 days to find out for sure.

Quit shitting on KC.

He had a reason to release that statement.

Scott striklin will be burned at the stake if he hired Sumrall. He'd be a great hire for them but the resume is too much like Napier.
