I hope you are never in any sort of leadership position. Imagine applying this thought process to literally any other scenario and it making sense.

If you were the CEO of a $110 million company and told your board of directors and share holders that you knew the current president of your largest most profitable division was failing and next year was going to be even worse, but you were going to wait until next year to make a change even though you already know it’s only getting worse from here, they would fire YOU too.

I'm not sure everyone here was slung through the mediocrity of Cutcliffe, Orgeron, Nutt mud and even pre Tuberville (even more average)(not me). To keep whining like take me back to sugar bowls, bring back top 5 recruitment classes, beat Bama. That's not Ole Miss, that's Freeze.

This mentality made sense when our athletic budget was bottom feeder nationally, but thanks to recent influxes of cash from SEC tv deals and other avenues we are now in the money with the big boys. We might be 11th in the SEC pecking order in terms of budget but that’s still good enough for top 25 in the nation overall. It no longer makes sense to think of ourselves the same way we did 20 years ago. So no it’s not just Freeze, it’s the new normal if you demand it. Or we can just keep paying Matt Luke more than Notre Dame pays their head coach because we have the money but are stuck in the mindset from 20 years ago. Tell me which one makes more sense

We're Ole Miss. What do you guys expect? We're a mid tier program. Always have been. Some of you seem to have only experienced Freeze.

I grew up ONLY knowing Ole Miss in the top 5 every year! EVERY FREAKING YEAR of my childhood. Ole Miss was Bama on steroids! In 1960 the New York times preseason said the best team in the country was Ole Miss and Number 2 was Ole Miss's second string! Yeah that kind of dominance. So no I don't know only "Freeze". Get off my freakn lawn!

Freeze showed us what we can be again if we have the right attitude and take the big boys head on. Why should we not strive to be the best every time? That's the attitude of a winner, otherwise, what's the freaking point?

I will say the point Jeffrey Wright made was valid. If we fire Luke this year we will be the ONLY SEC team with a HC search which means we aren't competing with anyone in our league for a coach.

I agree 100%. Unfortunately, we will pay Matt Luke $3 million per year for the next 2-3 years for losing records and for us to be absolutely fricking miserable, knowing full well the entire time that he will be replaced eventually.

Yes he will be our coach next year but he is 100% gone after then unless a miracle happens.

This pisses me off so much. Everyone with a brain knows what’s going to happen next year but we are going to wait a year for no reason and hamstring the next coach even more putting him another year back in recruiting

There is no logical reason for bringing back Luke (or even hiring him for that matter) knowing that next year will bring. We will be very, very bad on the field. Jeffrey Wright made some excellent points on the podcast on Monday. We cannot afford to not fire this coaching staff. Donations and ticket sales will be down even further next season. No coordinator hire will be sufficient to bring back ticket sales to an acceptable level because we all know that this program is (and always will be) a trainwreck with Matt Luke at the helm.

The only thing that makes me smile is knowing that this will all blow up in Ross Bjork's face like we all knew it would.

Ross is tied to Luke. When Luke goes Ross goes. That’s why he isn’t going to be fired.

It will take the intervention of God himself for us to win more than 4 games next year. I’m betting we only win 3.
