Yep, Dillard was a good leadoff guy late in the year, but he is not an outfielder. At least not at the level we our aspiring to be. He has a weenie arm and iust does not have the body type to lay out for a catch. It never made sense to me.

We just need an AD that is results driven and not feelings driven.

Current admins won’t fire mike because it wouldn’t be “right” but had no problem f**king Kennedy in basketball. They also hired Matt Luke based on emotion and not logic.

My hope is we don’t get another feelings driven chancellor but I won’t hold my breath.

We have to be proud of a season in which we made a super regional, competed for an SEC Title, were ranked almost all year, and won 41 games. We took series from Arkansas, A&M, Florida, etc. Great things that Mike Bianco should be given credit for.

HOWEVER

It's becoming quite frustrating watching us play inconsistent baseball, whether it be in the regular season or postseason. I absolutely despise the way that Bianco constantly reshuffles his lineup. I hate the fact that we can take series from the teams I mentioned above, but drop a game to North Alabama, lose to Wright State, lose to Arkansas State, be so inept vs. Mississippi State, and blow 9 run leads in the SEC Tournament Championship.

If we expect to be a top tier SEC program we should be hosting a regional every year and playing in a super regional every year.

Instead we make a regional every year and only get to the supers occasionally. That’s not elite. That’s not even top tier in the SEC.

We are a 2nd-3rd tier SEC program and until we hold hold ourselves to the standard that Arkansas, Vandy, LSU, MSU do, we will not move into the top tier.

I’m happy with the success from this season (making the supers) but given the hype behind this class we as fans should not be ok with making supers every 4-5 years. This team underachieved this year and last year.

We finished with a top 15 team. There are 297 Division I baseball schools. Had we not drawn another SEC West foe in the supers, we would almost certainly be heading to Nebraska.

Missing a regional is unacceptable. Getting knocked out of a regional as a host because an OVC school’s right fielder is throwing shite you can’t hit is also unacceptable. We should be making supers more consistently, but we’re also one of maybe 20 name brand baseball programs in the country, and we likely have the best national perception of any program that struggles to make it to Omaha. We said we had to make a super before this season, and we made a super and won a game, yet people are acting like it’s the end of the world. Any sane person would take a 40+ win season with a top 15 finish, not to mention potentially two years of dominant pitching on the horizon with many integral players returning on top of an elite recruiting class.

Plus we can’t fire Bianco without an AD and the guy who built our program out of nothing, won 40+ games, and ended with a top 15 team earned two more seasons purely by nature of making a super. Them’s the breaks. Bianco is here until 2021 at minimum unless he retires

I’d like to see Bianco as AD and us hire the Texas tech coach

I think we could get McDonnell from Louisville. Dude loves him some Oxford based off the few times I've talked to him

Dan McDonnell already makes more than Bianco and is in a better situation. Much easier path to the postseason in the ACC than SECW. We’re not getting him

Disagree. Arkansas is a team we historically play well against (and had success against this year) so it’s not the draw that kept us out of Omaha. I don’t see any other SEC programs complaining about their draw as the reason they didn’t make it. Bianco could have coached better in game 3. It was a great season but not making it to Omaha is getting old.

We’ve had so many “next years pitching staff is going to be amazing” yet every other SEC team has more success than us. We can continue to make excuses or we can hold our coaching staff to the same standard State, LSU, Vandy, Florida, and Arkansas hold their coaches to.

Right now we have the 6th or 7th best staff in the SEC. If we aren’t careful Auburn might mess around and start caring about baseball and pass us too
