Good Lawd!

Harry

That is so good

Send some more because I’m not familiar with good country music

I’m a firm believer, that if it’s good, it’s good

I was raised in New Albany, MS. My best friend's house growing up was across the street from his birthplace.

Too many to list:

William Faulkner
Eudora Welty
Larry Brown
Barry Hannah
John Grisham
Willie Morris
Shelby Foote
Tennessee Williams
William Alexander Percy
Walker Percy
Wyatt Waters
Walter Anderson

But, Larry Brown opened my eyes to the more modern Mississippi gothic literature when I was in college. So there’s my choice. For today.

DSJ knows Eudora Welty

her classic home is still standing between Millsaps, Belhaven, and south of the University of Mississippi medical school (and sadly, possibly a bad neighborhood now??)

I had Bob Wills queued up for Texas

God bless you for beating me to the punch

when I someday fall on the back porch to lay there and die of a stroke, I want this song playing on replay on my laptop only a few feet away

Mac McAnally

When Mac McAnally first got started I got to be friends with him and actually got to hang out with him for a week in the Shoals. Got to meet his family over in Belmont, MS.

Awesome guy, a true talent as a guitarist and songwriter...

Here in Oklahoma...A guy from the town where my family is all from and went to HS with my cousin... and has never been mentioned on here that I know.

Michael Hedges... probably my choice for the greatest musical genius from our state. He basically invented an entire new guitar style by himself.

Died way too young and has been kind of forgotten.
