True story though about Marine Recruiter signing up for the Army , my recruiter did it. Found out the day I shipped. Nobody saw that coming, but it happened. Recruiter of the year for his RS. Showed up, who are you? I'm SSgt so and so your new Recruiter. What? Yeah SSgt F joined the Army. We all don't know happened, but it did.
The date I got to MCRD San Diego was 06-06-06.

As a Marine I can absolutely tell you there is only one service that has won every war for the United States since the Civil War - and that's the US Navy. If you can move supplies over the oceans while at the same time preventing your foe from doing the same you win the war.
