Well, if thats not an invitation to skew the voting results..I've never seen one ! Sylvia Avery's mother told me to ask where Dr. Hook was anyway ?

Whoever said Nickleback..that’s not even funny. That’s like saying Creed is amongst the best of all time.
I agree, although I like Nickleback’s music. But they don’t merit even an honorable mention on any list of all-time great bands.

Did you all ever settle this ...or put it to a vote ?

I don't think so. This is the only full list I saw proposed (though I have never heard of stone temple pilots so I don't know if they belong on this list)

Rolling Stones
Led Zeppelin
Elvis
AC/DC
Eagles
Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers
Aerosmith
Van Halen
Motley Crue
Guns N Roses
Metallica
Pearl Jam
Alice In Chains
Stone Temple Pilots

No list without Iron Maiden is a complete list. Maiden performed in front of more people than the Beathles, Stones and LZ combined. The record industry just refused to acknowledge how
Popular Maiden was
Also, post 2000, The Killers have been one of the most influential groups in the world.

Not the best but a good listen is the “Atlanta Rythm Section” also if we are going with G.O.A.T. I really need to argue for “The Allman Brothers Band”

It would have to be The Rolling Stones...because they both play rock, and are named after rocks...

Good call on Sabbath.
Objectively it's The Beatles. And most of the bands listed would tell you that.
Neil Young should be included. Radiohead's not my fave but I can see their argument.
Queen isn't even close but had some great hits. A lot of their albums are a mess though.
My favorite is Metallica they're the most grave/intense. GnR rule too.
Rolling Stones could be anywhere from #2-#10. They're not in the same league as most of these other bands musically.
Doors are great, Zeppelin too, but The Velvet Underground were more mature and exciting than anybody.
ETA: The Beach Boys.

Ok this is the list Im throwin out since nothing was ever done.
16 bands, four divisions with 1-4 seeds in each
You can set the field if you want these bands seem to have come up alot in the thread
One Seeds
The Rolling Stones
The Beatles
Elvis
Led Zeppelin
Two Seeds
Guns N Roses
The Doors
ACDC
The Eagles
Three Seeds
Vanhalen
Aerosmith
Creedence Clearwater Revival
Pinkfloyld
Four Seeds
Metallica
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Nirvana
The Who
You can argue but no one else ever agreed to a list so here.
I dont like the Beatles, but based on album sales and people still listenin to them alot, they get a 1 seed.
So, how do you want to break them up into separate brackets?
