The topic obviously upsets you. The topic is obviously driving discussion. The issue seems to be a you issue instead of a board issue.

I felt compelled to click because by the title I thought maybe the Mayor of Athens did something sports related.

I commented because I was annoyed it ended up being a political thread on a sports board.

THere is a politics board on this site. Is it really that hard to post there people? What benefit do you get by posting here other than annoying those of us who don't want to have to search through political posts to find sports related topics on the sports board?

The sec-rant is going to be quickly ruined by politics if somebody doesn’t start moderating it

Because the shitty political policies that have been rammed down our throats and up other parts of our bodies are impacting everything in our lives, including sports.

I for one am glad these threads are here. While I probably could have guessed that Athens was fairly liberal, I had no idea that their leadership had made it a sanctuary city until now. I for one am glad that more people are seeing that bad decisions oftentimes have bad consequences. I am glad people are seeing that for many politicians, like Kelly Girtz, a dead girl is just the cost of progress. I am glad people are beginning to realize that a completely open border isn’t just a Texas problem, it impacts us all in our own towns. We as a country are reaping what we sowed, and people need to see that.

Another virtue signaling leftist who up until now never thought he'd have to deal with the consequences of his distorted, ideological policies. These people are a cancer to society, and they are in positions of power in way too many places.

Not at all in the right environment. Go over to a political board and ask them if they think Nico is a good QB. Wonder what the response would be.

You have to be an absolute moron to still believe they have good intentions. Their policies are designed to dismantle Western society, and they've somehow convinced enough self-loathing white people to vote against their own self interests.

Thus driving more clicks to the topic. And more clicks and comments will keep it at the top of page one.

Do you see the Karen fallacy? You don’t like it so you draw attention to it because you inherently believe people think like you and should rally to your voice. Instead you look weak and whiny.

If you don’t want a topic discussed you ignore it and promote other topics. That will push this topic further down the page. But I digress.

As to why it’s being discussed here instead of the poli board (and this is just a theory) is that the poli board and the off topic board delineate the 2 camps of political thought on here. The polo board is a more right while off topic is far left in its stances. This board offers a moderate stance on politics for very short lived topics. A way to vent without venom as it were. This thread would be a couple pages at best and a half day at best if not for the “how dare you bring reasonable people together to discuss a topic for a few hours before it goes away” crowd.

The topic was dead before the two Karen’s started whining about it instead of letting it fall away.

They are being Karen’s because they agree with the politics and are embarrassed at how utterly stupid the policies are so the decry the optics of it being on the sports forum

Its the off season and it happened on the UGA campus, but i suppose if this happened at LSU, you would have no problem with it and bashing LSU

The lack of opposition to the topic on people moving to the SEC states supports this but I want to give them both the benefit of the doubt and an easy out.

The irony of people supporting leftist policies complaining about political posts on a sports message board. The left is responsible for injecting politics into damn near everything, and absolutely in sports (Kaepernick, Rapinoe, BLM, et al).

For those of you who are sick of politics being everywhere, I fully understand your point, but if you're a lefty, I have zero sympathy for you.

But they don't change their driver's license to their rotating residences throughout matriculation and therefore do not vote in the city, by and large. They vote absentee in whatever district their parents live, by and large.

So the Athens voting pop, like many others, becomes professors, who donate hard left, retirees, etc. Not that I want any college idiot voting for representation anywhere I live, if possible.

There's an old saying, "if you're young you have no brain, if you're old you have no heart," or something like that. There's a reason the left goes so hard after kids and women. Probably because they think the same. Feelz.
