You can draw a circle around Huntsville, Chattanooga, Asheville, Knoxville and Greenville and have a bunch of really nice mid sized cities within 3-4 hours of each other.

That would be an awesome place to live.

I like living on the coast, personally, but that area sounds nice.

I've lived in The Shoals area all of my life (46 years). It has grown some but not as much as Huntsville/Madison and to be honest I'm glad it hasn't. For me personally it's about the perfect size as it is. Big enough to have plenty of options for whatever it is you're into, but not so big that it's congested and crime riddled.

Have lived here my entire life. I can't describe how much it has changed. Worst part about living here is the allergens.

I work in land development. We can't design subdivisions fast enough right now.

My sister and brother in law live in Hartselle Al

Since you're an LSU fan, I'm guessing that your sister is too--and must feel terribly isolated in Hartselle. Tell her to join the North Alabama LSU club.

The Tour Bus to the Outlet Mall left him and he didn't have enough money to make it back to Lufkin.

This statement is so true. I grew up in east cobb and still live in the area but thinking of moving to Cherokee county. Woodstock is what East cobb was in the 80's

I was told that Madison city has stopped issuing building permits, and Athens issued no less than 700 in the month of February.
