Yes, when I think great college town eats I think about the açaí bowl from a “modern smoothie bar” in South Bend, Indiana.

I’d be embarrassed to have my town listed

They have 50+ whiskies and bourbons, some barrel aged in their own barrels. 30 taps of mostly Alabama and Georgia beers. They made a lot of the wooden tables and the bar themselves (link below). I know the owners very well, they also own The Depot and it’s an old train station renovated into a nicer restaurant.

The pizza and Austin and Como are the only 3 that look better than any bar food anywhere. The other 7 need to step it up.

Zingerman's as a deli is awesome, but the actual food it puts out is so-so.

Hmmm...seems like you’re embarrassed to not be listed?

McDonald's and Burger King don't smash their burgers. Wendy's is supposed to do a 4 corner press (still not a smash, and the griddle is not hot enough for a good sear) but 16 year olds are generally pretty lazy.

It's safe to say that you have never had an actual smashed and seared burger at any one of these places.

No kidding. But the Booches result is much the same. A thin, crispy, dry, terrible patty.
